Is this a normal occurrence? I'm more of a moderate, but I'm starting to understand libertarian/conservative views when it comes to public policy and economics. I'm still very much liberal socially(this includes gun rights).

I think that's it. I've came to the realization that sound bites from both sides are either misleading or exaggerated.

You beat me to this quote. It is so true. I was such a liberal when I was young but once I had children to raise suddenly I saw the world through different eyes - the eyes of a parent - and I realized that too many of those liberal views were not in the best interest of my children.

Most people wake up sooner or later. If you decide to pay attention the more you see.

Yes, that's all part of growing up, getting a job and providing for yourself. Happens to most people of average or greater intelligence. Some at an earlier age than others.

The older you get the weaker you will become in time...Your survival instincts will kick in...You will become more vigilant and wise...You will protect your resources ...you will stand up for your turf...You will realize that the people can be cannibalistic and consume each other .....Conservatives conserve what is tried and true by time and tradition...they stick to things that work....Liberals are naive and experimental...they lack vision and do not see the eventual outcome of their actions. Once you get older your vision of the future and of the possibilities of what can take place becomes more clear - You see consequences...Liberalism is like being a puppy who bounces about trying this and that ..............eventually the dog is grown and runs with the big dogs.........Liberals stay pups forever.
