A NJ judge ruled the state must allow same-sex marriage using DOMA being stricken down as part of the reasoning. Christie has said he will appeal the ruling.
Quote:
After the DOMA ruling, some federal agencies are extending benefits to legally married same-sex couples, but denying them to same-sex couples in "civil unions," Judge Mary Jacobson of Mercer County Superior Court wrote in her ruling Friday.
"If the trend of federal agencies deeming civil union partners ineligible for benefits continues, plaintiffs will suffer even more, while their opposite-sex New Jersey counterparts continue to receive federal marital benefits for no reason other than the label placed upon their relationship by the state," Jacobson wrote.
I don't really care what New Jersey is doing. Really to be completely honest, I don't really care about gay marriage, I don't even consider it to be an issue. I know some people on here may be surprised to hear that from me, but really it shouldn't even be debated about. Who cares if people want to be gay? It's not my damn business.
However I still oppose gay marriage, I strongly believe that term should only be between a man and a woman. This is for religious, cultural, and natural reasons. Gays are such a small group of people that I don't even care about their "cause ". But they do deserve the same respect as everyone else, and I have no problem with them getting equal benefits. But I wish they would just settle for civil unions, or call it something else besides "marriage ".
The only thing that makes me upset is when I see gay activists bullying people. Like they just did with the Oregon bakery, gay people need to learn the true meaning of tolerance and respect religious people who may simply.disagree with their lifestyle or gay marriage. I don't tolerate those gays who want to be pushy about it.
Hopefully Christie can get this overturned, once again the decision is taken from the people and decided by a judge...Just another state circling the drain of degeneracy.

"The People" created the law that said same sex couples in NJ had to have all of the same rights as heterosexuals. So unless you think that a Republican form of government is the definition of "circling the drain", then I don't know what you're talking about.
