odds are 90 + percent of people who fly the flag are white conservative republican males.

reason 1025 why i believe white conservative republican males do not like black people.

when the GOP talks about broadening the base to non whites, this stuff is there idea lol.

The bottom line is this the confederate flag represents death to black southerners, the enslavment of black southerners, racial hatred directed at black southerners, evil committed against black southerners, and the exclusion of a huge part of southern society which are black southerners.

The southern states were fighting to keep black southerners in bondage. They were fighting to destroy the families of black southerners, kill black southerners, and to treat black southerners like animals/cattle. So the confederate flag is one with an ugly history, which is 100% based on keeping black southerners as slaves forever.

I personally think that those who fly the confederate flag are endorsing slavery and all that goes along with it despite what they say.

Someone who wants to represent southern pride or heritage, could easily pick southern symbols that don't have anything to do with slavery and that actually includes black southerners.
This is one thing that many people never consider. The South has more Blacks than any other region in the USA. By that definition, a slim majority of Blacks are southerners. I don't see any Blacks claiming the Confederate flag are part of their heritage. Vast majority of Blacks I've seen(and I live in Georgia, so I've seen many Black people) have never claimed the Confederate flag as their heritage. I have only seen 2 Black people in my life sport a Confederate flag t-shirt. That's it. No more.

This is a question many people need to consider. If the Confederate flag is "southern heritage", how come the vast majority of Southern Blacks do not claim it as their heritage? That is a question that needs to be answered. More people need to think about it.

The Confederate Flag does not represent the south. It is about reminding black people what their place is. You will occasionally see a car with northern state license plates displaying it for that reason.

i live in MN. ive seen 1 confederate flag in my life. was a small bumper sticker on a car.

whenever people see the flag they correlate it with the klan and the neo nazis, and only white people that want to antagonize others will display it.

think about it. the only reason why the OP even created this thread is because he knows the confederate flag is divisive. if it was just a flag nobody cared about and everybody saw as good, do you think this thread wouldve been created?

Yes they should think about that, but of course the answer is because in their minds black southerners don't count as real southerners.

The fact that the confederate flag to black southerners represents their continued enslavement and destruction is irrelevant to people who speak to the idea that the confederate flag represents southern pride

Many won't say this out loud, but this is the only reason that they exclude black southerners when they think of southern pride.

Isn't that funny, if you were not in MN but in GA or MS you wouldn't think like that?

It represents the South to Southern people and as the article explains paying tribute to those lost. Hard to manage that fact?
