The republican bill would only fund active duty military - not cover VA services for wounded warriors. Republicans are consistently against benefits and services for veterans. The dems tried to get the bill to include vets to no avail. Republicans loathe veterans.

It doesn't matter what you listen. Only 13% of Americans support the shut down idea, and they will hold GOP responsible. The whole idea of making unreasonable demands, and then blaming others for shutting down the government because they did not accept the demands is bizzarre. Who do you think is going to support that, except the 13% which are the hard core party loyalists.

In the game of chess, this would equate to sacrificing your queen to make a symbolic statement. lol

I'm one of the 13% and I blame both parties.

One cannot work without the other. Congress is a body.
They turn 100% bipartisan with no debate when it comes to spying bills or restricting our liberties in the name of protecting the "homeland" or invading countries.

Let the talk turn to money and they play this game each and every time.

Wrong.. Clinton veto'd the spending bill Congress sent him shutting down government.

And Clintons approval rating fell from around 65% to mid 40's... and the polls didnt start improving again until after Clinton gave in to Republican cuts and welfare reforms which the people wanted.

GOP took the hit, because everyone knew the bill was going to be rejected. It is beyond weird to make demands that you know will not be accepted, and then blame the concequences on someone else. No one is dumb enough to believe it.

After it was a all said and done, Clinton's ratings were higher than ever, and he went on to win the 2nd term.

You just said 13% support it and will blame the GOP.

I said I'm one of the 13% and I blame both sides.
Why are you confused that I blame both sides ?

Our government is beyond repair. We need to crash and burn.
It will either happen now or later.
I doubt a shutdown will do anything drastic though.

Then why did Clinton give it and reform welfare and cut the growth of spending as the GOP wanted?

The left skip over any factoid that makes their party look "weak".
