The republican bill would only fund active duty military - not cover VA services for wounded warriors. Republicans are consistently against benefits and services for veterans. The dems tried to get the bill to include vets to no avail. Republicans loathe veterans.

It doesn't matter what you listen. Only 13% of Americans support the shut down idea, and they will hold GOP responsible. The whole idea of making unreasonable demands, and then blaming others for shutting down the government because they did not accept the demands is bizzarre. Who do you think is going to support that, except the 13% which are the hard core party loyalists.

I'm one of the 13% and I blame both parties.
One cannot work without the other. Congress is a body.
They turn 100% bipartisan with no debate when it comes to spying bills or restricting our liberties in the name of protecting the "homeland" or invading countries.

And Clintons approval rating fell from around 65% to mid 40's... and the polls didnt start improving again until after Clinton gave in to Republican cuts and welfare reforms which the people wanted.

GOP took the hit, because everyone knew the bill was going to be rejected. It is beyond weird to make demands that you know will not be accepted, and then blame the concequences on someone else. No one is dumb enough to believe it.
After it was a all said and done, Clinton's ratings were higher than ever, and he went on to win the 2nd term.
