I got a letter on Saturday from Highmark, my healthcare insurance company notifying me that my insurance coverage would end on Dec 2014. The letter also stated that my monthly premiums will also be going up. I called Highmark and it turns out I am one of the lucky ones. Other people are getting letters today and tomorrow to let them know that they are losing their insurance as of December 2013.

If you are insured with Highmark, get your mail. You may not be so lucky, you may have until Dec 2013 or you will have to pay a penalty (as stated on the letter).

I had other questions but the agent didn't know, she said she didn't know these letters were going out and this is the first that she knew about the cancellations of policies. I am in que for a call back.

Ok, got my call back. My insurance policy will INCREASE by 9.9%. hmm, I though Obama said insurance would decrease. Well at least we are not one of those unlucky families who are just finding out or still did not get the letter in the mail telling them that their insurance would be terminated December 2013.

Again, the agent said they don't know much about it and are finding out little by little.

Also another warning. When you give your private information such as social security numbers to those Obamacare helpers it should make you feel better to know these people were not screened. Do you research before giving out your information because there will be a lot of fraud with this.

Obviously Democrats thought Obamacare would be funded before these letters went out. People are going to freak. I'm in a small group. Most people are getting letters notifying them that their coverage is ending December 2013.

The letter is vague and reads as if your insurance coverage ends, then there is no information after that. The insurance agents don't even know what is going on.

I don't like not knowing and I especially don't like when my insurance agent doesn't know the answers.

There is a difference in a policy ending and no longer being covered after a date. How long have you had this insurance and have your premiums never raised durring that period?

TERMINATED means ending, NO POLICY, NO COVERAGE! I don't care how you try to spin it. TERMINATED IS TERMINATED.

Oh wait until everyone opens their mail today and tomorrow.

Providing for the addition of a Policy year Provision

II Section GP - GENERAL PROVISIONS is amended as follows:

A. By adding the following new paragraph to Subsection B. BENEFITS AFTER TERMINATION OF COVERAGE:

If this agreement terminates as a result of a decision by the Plan to discontinue coverage and terminate all agreements of this type at the end of the policy year, the member shall be entitled to benefits under the this agreement through and including December 31, 2014.

As I said, some people will be getting letters today and tomorrow where their termination of coverage date is December 31, 2013

Unless you scan a copy of the letter (blacking out personal information) and post it here we should assume this as a un-sourced and possible misleading accusation

Anyone can say that got a letter. . .and make stuff up
