I'm not claiming that and I'm actually surprised any business could survive on that, there is no margin for a downturn and it seems like a very risky investment. In any event that 17% I believe is the corporate McD's, the restaurants themselves are owned locally.

Individual franchises have to send a certain amount to the mother ship (corp) no matter what.
They take the loss individually because the mother ship always gets paid.

The average per store is 4.6%. Hardly enough to double wages.
