$95 per year, increasing to $325 in 2015, and $695 in 2016.

That's for now!

If this PO cr@p sticks around .. You can bet those 'penalties/taxes will go up .. higher and higher!

The tax maxes out at 2.5% AGI. Childless people pay more, single people pay more, and now the uninsured pay more.

So, people will just stay uninsured, pay the fine, and sign up when they get seriously ill. So much for being self-funded.

It was Republicans who insisted that states be able to opt out of the Medicaid expansion component. Not Obama.

And the only "free" care I've heard about from Obama lately is the free preventive care like physicals and mammograms/prostate checks. My doctor's office will be doing them.

In the last 5 years, Canada's life expectancy has remained flat while the
US's has increased. If it weren't for red states, the US's life expectancy
would be much higher than Canada's.
Of course. That's like saying "If it wasn't for all the obese people, the US would be the thinnest nation in the world."
Are the red states not part of the US?

Not sure who all these people are expecting "free" health care. Not even sure why Oct. was picked. The exchange site is supposed to be up and running then. Even Medicaid isn't free. This is to raise revenue, who thinks it is a free bee?

No doubt. Egregious piece of legislature for sure and at such a bad economic time. Will only add to the debt load for more people.

Diane Sawyer was interviewing a few people with pre existing conditions who hardly can't wait to get the new health care since they stated it is great to get it for free....

If it wasn't so sad it would almost be hilarious to see they huge mess that will start tomorrow....

Even though I'm a republican I hope there will not be a government shut down so we can see in full force the huge mess....

Look, there was never a promise of free healthcare. The exchanges were always presented as 50 different state marketplaces of private insurance companies.

Now as an actual fact, based on the subsidy calculator at kaiser, depending on your income, family size, the health insurance plan picked, etc, some people will qualify for health insurance that costs nothing per month.

But there was never a promise of free. Only a promise of affordable.

I wonder if doctors expect the leeches to pay their deductibles and copays?
