Take Forest Service Campgrounds here in the West. The Camp Host is usually a VOLUNTEER. Most such campgrounds are "PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT" areas. There is no garbage service. There are no electrical, water, or sewer hookups. There is no dump station. There is no bathhouse. There are vault or pit toilets. The VOLUNTEER Camp Host keeps them swept out and replenishes the toilet paper. It is primitive camping at its finest! What possible justification could there be for closing them? Of course, many of them are closed due to end of season anyway!
What justification is there for closing the military Commissaries? They are self-funded, not subsidized by taxpayer dollars!
What justification can there be to closing a parking area along side a major highway so that people can't stop and take pictures of Mount Rushmore?

Spin it anyway you want, there is NO excuse for many of the closures other than to inconvenience the American people as much as possible, and the ADMINISTRATION is the one who required the closures, which means, since obama is the man in charge of the ADMINISTRATION, it is HIS fault!
Only 17% of the government is closed, they say. ONLY SEVENTEEN PERCENT!
Yet, the closures are carefully calculated to cause the greatest possible inconvenience to the American people. Coincidence? I think NOT!
Just like the sequester, it's the new M.O. of the Dem leadership. Personally I resent being used/treated this way by our employees.

That's liberal brain dead reasoning for you.
The Republicans can pass a clean bill if they want to avoid a government shutdown.

Personally, I blame the obama Administration for the shutdowns. Which of course, means that OBAMA is responsible! He is, after all, the BOSS of the ADMINISTRATION.
So, yes, the SHUTDOWN is, in part, the fault of the repugnicans. HOWEVER, the CLOSURES are entirely the fault of the ADMINISTRATION! OBAMA'S minions made the decision on what to close, thus it is OBAMA'S fault!

By the way, the entire issue could have been resolved by the President submitting a workable BUDGET to Congress (as he is required by law to do), instead of relying on Continuing Resolutions to keep things going for a few weeks. WORKABLE means one the Congress will pass, and he can then sign into law. So, it is still obama's fault!
Oh, wait, a workable budget might mean he would have to sit down with the Congressional leaders and NEGOTIATE and maybe even COMPROMISE!

Why has reid not signed it? Or even voted on it?

The defunding is not longer on the table....so why?

About the budget...when was the last time harry approved a budget?
And like getting your kid to admit what the problem is we finally get to what this is all about! This is about the budget or lack of one and the dems wanting another raise of the debt ceiling! The house is finally standing firm because i hate to tell you dems but ACA is a massive money grab and the rebates and such have to be paid to the insurance compaines by us as the american people. It by itself is a debt ceiling buster and if this CR was approved "clean" as the dems want, would cause a automatic approval on a never ending debt hole. There would not be a ceiling left to go up against.

I don't know. As stinking and bloated like a dead carp as the government is, ol' scraps might have a point!

Fire 90% of them. It would be a start.

Or the senate could have at least voted on one of the house budgets that got sent there. Reid wouldnt even bring those to the floor for vote.
From Politico:

The most obvious political vote of the session was a 0-99 roll call on President Barack Obama’s budget blueprint — which was offered by Republicans. While that tally is sure to become fodder for campaign ads, Democrats dismissed it as a political stunt since there was no real policy language attached to the Obama budget.

The right wing must be really lousy poker players...unless they cheat of course. They really don't know when to fold 'em.
You lost. Either play by the rules and stay in the game or take your whiney little sore-azz loser selves and leave the table.

Seems like the righties only find information, i.e. websites, tv, etc.... that reinforce the talking points they have been spoon fed by GOP.

Nope, the GOP needs to quit playing games with the welfare of our country and pass a clean bill!
