They only get paid if congress voluntarily votes to give them back pay. True, they got back pay in 1995, but do you honestly see that happening under the current congress?

Blame for Both Sides as Possible Government Shutdown Approaches | Pew Research Center for the People and the Press

Hey OP, sorry for your bad luck! And bad reporting! And bias! And disingenuousness!

39% to 36%!

LOL

Quote:
If the federal government shuts down because Republicans and the Obama administration fail to agree on a budget, there will be plenty of blame to go around. About as many say they would blame the Republicans (39%) for such a standoff as say they would blame Obama (36%), with 17% volunteering that both would be equally to blame.

I wonder how the birthers will cope with him... That should, indeed, be a slam dunk for them.

I concede that, and hopefully it'll happen. But what about the private contractors sent home today?

Passing a bill, doesnt mean money magically appears from little green lepricahns to pay the bill..

The implimentation is expected to cost $100B.. Tell me where that money comes from if its not to be budged.

Obamacare was passed in line with the political process in the US. Thus, it is law. Repealing a law can also be done through the proper process. Holding an entire nation hostage because you don't like a particular law is NOT part of an adaptive process - it is nothing other than extortion.
No it wasnt passed in line with the polical process. Obamacare never passed the House.. A tax cut was passed in the House for veterans, the Senate then stripped every single word of that bill, and used it for Obamacare..

Yeah, now you can rely upon government to even read your kids bedtime stories, just like most little Democrats.. They need tovernment to do everything for them..

I loved that he picked a book about an irate imbecile who adamantly declares again and again that he hates something that he's never tried. But in the end when he tries it he discovers he likes it after all. I cannot think of a more apt analogy to the Affordable Care Act.

You really think Reid would allow any Republican changes to ObamaCare?

Hell, the way our Congress is allowing this law to operate, it's not even a real law anymore, it's just dictates from on high, where anything and everything can change at a moments notice.
