They did.

They were called "Budgets". You know, the ones required by the Constitution. And they passed them, for five years in a row, with bipartisan support. Every time. On time.

Democrats in the Senate couldn't get their act together enjough to pass even one, for more than a thousand days. When their own President wrote one, they voted UNANIMOUSLY against it. Not until Obama's second term could they even agree among themselves on a budget... and that turned out so grossly overblown, that no one but Democrat fanatics could even stomach it.

Hearing this bunch of Keystone Demokops complain that OTHERS are not "doing their job", is the crowning absurdity of our age.

Both parties need to stop fighting and find an agreement. Hey how about the rich won't have to pay so much taxes and the affordable Act will be passed. In the end the government still gets their money. Since it is based on income the rich will still pay way more.

So a 3rd compromise has come across the isle. Bi partisan at that and Reid refuses to fund the government in trade for the elimination of the medical device tax and eliminating the special healthcare the federal government employees get and no delay for implementation for special interest that don't have to comply with the law, given under executive orders..

Sounds like Reid is holding the country hostage.

The devil is in the deatils and as you proved, details are not your or the Republicans strongest talent, I said a COMPLETE SPENDING BILL, leaving out things you do not like from the budget is NOT DOING YOUR JOB. Keep coming up with excuses, the American People know where the problem is, you are going to apsolutely hate the election results next year.

They did - the bill funded everything that was necessary for smooth government operation.

The Democrats rejected it and shut down the government.

Nope it is still the Repubs trying to hold the Spending Bill hostage while trying to cut away portions of ACA. Amazing this has bren coming for years now and the House descides it is better to harm the Nation in an attempt to override a Bill they could not kill any other way. No one is being fooled but your fellow sheeple. just so ya know.

And each one has had strings attached to it. Why can't republicans just send a clean bill? Are they that incapable of doing this one simple thing?

The people made their views on the matter known when they re-elected President Obama to a second term. The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the ACA. The anarchists, the American Taliban (the McCarthy-ites in the GOP) shut-down the government thinking they would gain by the chaos and anyone beyond the 6th grade can probably recognize that. The President and the American people should not succumb to this attack on our laws, government and way of life.
