I haven't been able to log on either, I'm thrilled that I can finally get health insurance. I'm 62 soon to be 63 and haven't been able to get health insurance since the crash of '08 when I lost my job and my profession went south. I've only been able to get a part time PRN job with no benefits and at my age everything is pre-existing. I guess I'll wait a few days until everything settles down to try and get the info. I will be one of the millions signing up for ACA as I've still got 2 more years before I'm eligible for Medicare.
I am paying for my own insurance, was notified that the cost of my POLICY will go up then will be TERMINATED.
So how are people who arent working, cant find work or working 2 or 3 part time jobs to pay rent and put food on the table supposed to squeeze out an extra $2k?
I don't know. How are they supposed to "squeeze out" the extra $5k-10k they would probably have to now under the previous system?
Which way do you thinking people think the majority will go?
Considering the amount of traffic at healthcare.gov (and other state exchanges) today, I think people will buy the insurance. I know you're hoping otherwise, but let's see what happens.
This is what I dont get...so hopefully someone can dumb it down for me. And correct me if I am wrong here:
So if I make very little per year (hypothetically), I would qualify for subsidized care at little to no cost. If I do have to pay for insurance, its only INSURANCE, right? I would STILL have to pay for deductibles, prescriptions, etc. right? And if I qualify for subsidized care, who ends up paying those doctor or ER bills that I would have?
For the record, I have insurance thru my employer. I am just curious as to how this works. Especially for people who really cant afford it.
Those who pay the full price for insurance pay for those who get subsidized insurance.
Millions of Americans now have access to affordable healthcare. Your party tried to stop that but couldn't. This is a great day for America.
The butt hurt is STRONG with the GOP. This is their worst nightmare, high demand for something they've worked tirelessly to block.
In 2014, we will flush them down the toilet...
