When you apply for car insurance online, you are required to disclose information about yourself and your auto (s). Even then, the estimate is subject to change after a credit report is run and knowledge of your prior claim history is known.

The cost for healthcare insurance is determined by your zip code, family size, birth dates and smoking history no different than healthcare insurance quotes, pre ACA.

There is no way any insurer is going to give you a guaranteed quote for any kind of insurance until they know more about your situation.

"Most" would be more than 1/2 which would be near 155 million people.

2 million out of a country of over 300 million is hardly "extremely popular".

Pre existing conditions arent allowed to be considered, so what "situation" are you discussing? It should be, location, family size, ages.. and income for the subsidy.. Your health is now meaningless..

How are the subsidies paid for? Are my taxes going up?

There are essentially two big funding streams for the Affordable Care Act. The first are cuts to Medicare reimbursements. We heard a lot about this during the presidential campaign, when Mitt Romney would talk about the law cutting $716 billion from Medicare. These are cuts largely to the rates that we pay doctors who see Medicare patients, and also what we pay private insurers that cover these subscribers.

The other big funding source are taxes on different health care industries like hospitals, insurance companies and, more relevant in recent days, medical device makers. There's a debate about whether those taxes will get passed on to consumers, but, as it stands, they're not direct taxes on you as an individual.

There is one tax that is applied to some individuals, which began last year: The Affordable Care Act raised taxes on investment income for people who earn more than $200,000.

Everything you need to know about life under Obamacare

But you can go to any health insurance site and see the premium/out of pocket/coverage costs to compare BEFORE signing up. All of them have the disclaimer.

You can't with Obamacare exchanges. You have to apply to see the costs to compare.

They could have had even more affordable options had health co-ops, tort reform, and buying across state lines been approved.

Your party refused to even hear such common sense solutions, because you wanted a big government takeover of the 5th largest economic sector in the republic, and to make all of us less free.

You and the Democrats want socialism.

80% of the country already has insurance. Why would those people sign on to Obamacare? You need to consider the number of uninsured when judging its popularity.

And who will pay for their affordable health insurance?
