Bill Kristol told the Repubs back when Clinton was working to get HC reform passed, the GOP might never recover if he was to get it passed. The same is pretty true with Obama, which is why the Repubs have been so desperate to try and stop it.... but they can't.
hey..you guys are bankrupting this nation faster then the Neo Cons...you are take pride in this?
Statist Democrats and Neo Cons turly hate America.
The only super Republican state that is trying to make it work is Idaho. Idaho doesn't have a lot of people on "welfare" or very many minorities. Its the perfect state for Republicans to support the ACA which they are doing by not opposing it. Idaho in fact is trying to make it look like a state plan rather than a Federal plan. What happens if Idaho embraces the ACA and calls it Idahocares? Its hard to even find a Democrat in Idaho but they sure as heck know there way to find Snap,Children Lunches, and EIC and I suspect the ACA. Maybe Idaho could be the model for Republicans.
None that I know of. But it doesn't matter at this point. ACA was a compromise since it's not single payer.
The ACA has 161 conservative amendments in the bill. Democrats didn't listen to conservatives so much that Democrats in the Senate added 161 conservative amendments to the bill.
Look, conservatives did not want a new health care law. Period. The Democrats negotiated with conservatives for many, many, many, months trying, begging pleading hey will do x, y, and z for you to vote for this bill, no conservatives would do it. No matter how much the Democrats bent over backwards.
So finally, the Democrats in Congress moved on. It was a legislative priority for the Democratic Party and they had the votes in both houses of Congress to do it.

conservatives in reality had a lot of input into the healthcare bill.
They got mad though and formed the Tea Party because someone messed around with their Medicare. In 2010 the seniors in the country put the Tea Party in power because a black man took future unearned benefits out of Medicare-Preferred Providers. There is hardly one of them who post here who isn't on a government plan. They love their Medicare but they hate big gubbermint.

The Tea Party was formed before Obama was ever elected, I hope the ACA covers mental health services for people like you who desperately need the help.

I live in Idaho and I can assure you it's not hard to find a Democrat, especially if you live in Boise.
As far as the ACA goes, as someone who is self-employed and has had personal dealings with private health insurance I can tell you there's no way it could be as bad as the system we had before.

It shows that less substantive amendments by Rs were adopted than that of the the Ds 29-36
also
Yet many of the GOP amendments on this incomplete list do seem pretty substantive. For example, one amendment offered by Oklahoma's Tom Coburn requires members of Congress and their staff to enroll in the government-run health insurance program.
Obama EO'd that one right off the table. You can't point out what the Republicans got, call it bipartisan, and ignore everything that has been wiped out/cleansed. That article is more than just incomplete now.
The bottom line is no Republican voted for it, and no matter what amendments they offered; the Dems are the lone souls responsible for this disaster.
I can't wait to login here after ACA crashes and burns, and all the progressive liberals blame republicans.

Yes, this is the reason why when we pretend that conservatives hate big government it is a waste of time.
conservatives love big government in poll after poll after poll.
The Military, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Chips, etc are all huge government programs and conservatives love them all.
We are never having discussion about big versus small government with conservatives.
And again if you pay attention to conservatives this becomes very clear. conservatives are upset at the groups of people who they think are undeserving of government help, yet are getting it.
This is where conservatives talk about government, not big versus small, but deserving versus undeserving.
And conservatives don't focus on policy outcomes. They don't give crap if a policy works or not that is completely irrelevant. conservatives focus on the groups of people that they think will benefit, that trumps policy results by a wide margin for conservatives.
conservatives only care if the deserving are being helped and the undeserving get punished.
This discussion that conservatives have about government spending is illogical, hateful and most importantly a huge waste of time, but for conservatives when they think about government spending this is the debate.
