Sure, you can see the trees decorated with IRS documents in town squares on the West Coast.

I can't think of anyone who would be far gone enough to honestly believe this stuff.

It is so silly that it seems like an exaggerated parody of what wingnuts believe.

Government began by taxing the rich only. But as we know government being the power and money hungry institution it is, taxing the rich wasn't enough and they also taxed the middle class. The lower class continues to be exempt.

Yes, its true that the left-wingnuts don't celebrate income taxes, they don't decorate trees with IRS forms etc. Those are all silly exaggerations.

In the same way, and for the same reasons, fish do not celebrate the ocean, nor do they put little water-filled ornaments on the local boughs of kelp or whatever they have. Water is simply the breath of life to them, it supports them, nourishes them, keeps them whole, is directly responsible for their very existence... but they have gotten to the point where they don't even know it exists. It just is the basic world they live in.

Fish do not even know they are wet. And liberals do not think of Other People's Money... or unlimited supplies of it, such as an ocean (or an income tax) provide with no effort from them.

But without it, they would find it completely impossible to exist.

Only if you try to take it away, do they look around and begin to panic.

The income tax started out as a really low (by today's standard) percentage of income. Look at what it's grown into. I'm sure that back then, if anyone raised the alarm about it, they were deemed "fearmongers" and told "it's only a tiny amount".
There's a lesson in that.

This is the good work of the statist Democrats in power. They refuse to budge on reducing the complexity of the income tax.

The purpose of taxation has fundamentally changed since the unlimited spigot of money was first turned on in 1913.

When the income tax was first passed, its money was used only to pay government workers for the work they did (including the military) to keep the nation free.

Today, a majority of tax money collected, is simply handed to people who did not earn it, in the name of "helping the poor" or "making things more equal".

A secondary effect of this money, is to buy the votes of the people receiving it.

Or maybe it's not "secondary".

128 million americans are taking payments from the Lord Government, 160 million americans are working. This doesn't sound sustainable.

128 million Americans are now on government programmes. Can America survive as the world

You got that right. Look at them fight to defend it on cd, multiply that by Obama's welfare constituents and we would be in a civil war.
