It's like quicksand, the more you thrash about the quicker you sink. I just can't wait until Oct 16th if this Mexican standoff continues.

Pass the popcorn.

Sounds like you guys are in the same vacuum you were last October. I bet many were sure they only had one more month until President Romney right?

do these conservatives even read past the headlines of their own articles?

All it takes is "Blatant conservative slant media suggest Obama still the bad guy," and its off to the races. Surely CD needs to hear about this!

Reid said he would not even agree to a bill restoring funding to childhood cancer treatment. He said "why would I do that?"

Because Harry Reid hates kids with cancer, right?

When the batshyte crazy wing of the Republican party stops trying to hold this country hostage, we can restore ALL the programs that we need.

You know, all the ones the tea party says we don't need.

Need I remind you of Michelle Bachmann's smiling face while she proclaimed how HAPPY they were that the government was shut down? She was downright gleeful.

Then - cut to McConnell and Paul whispering about who is 'winning' when, for some reason, they thought they couldn't be heard.

We only pay interest. The national debt has increased yearly for decades. We haven't paid any principle.

And that is a non-starter. It's a false promise by tea partiers to say that "oh, we're willing to avoid default." No, you're not...only if you get you demands are you willing to avoid it. And that's just wrong.

We're through playing these stupid games, everyone sees through them. Pass a clean bill and then get the support to repeal ACA later if you don't like it.
And all the while, the democrats and their lying leader are claiming obamacare is not a political device but for the "good of the people". The people certainly seem willing to see it stopped. After all, it is evident that unless the government forces (not a free countries method) enrollment but lets the people decide, it will fail through lack of participation. The government uses it as a boogey man saying that if it does not go into full, forced effect the nation will fail. Ie, it is political as is the democrats stance on the shutdown.

Only shut down the things that will not effect the ruling elite and will cause the maximum harm to the people. Government at its democratic finest.

Boehner believes it's a game.

"This isn't some damn game," said House Speaker John Boehner, as the White House and Democrats held to their position of agreeing to negotiate only after the government is reopened and the $16.7 trillion debt limit raised.
Prospect for quick end to shutdown is remote

Now, what were you typing about?

Maybe you're the John Boehner of the forum? If you are, remember this; clean bill

Of course Obama and the Democrats think the Republicans are playing games and trying to game the system. That goes without saying. The public knows the GOP is playing games as well.

When you hear Democrats shrieking about how irresponsible it is for Republicans to “risk default” on the nation’s debt obligations, know this: Default would be impossible if the Senate passed the bill, and if Obama signed, a House measure that makes debt payments the government’s top priority in the event the debt ceiling is not raised.

Why did Reid strip it out. They wanted to use the Credit default as a threat, you'll hear alot of fear mongering coming from Obama and democrats but we will not default. Our revenues are 10 times our interest and debt payments. There is absolutely no reason for a default. For Obama to point the finger he may as well be pointing to Reid and his own treasury.
Instead of parroting "talking points" that you were spoon fed, do some research and think for your self. What about that no default bill is problematic? Look into it for yourself with an open mind and stop being a victim of propaganda!
