So software glitch = fundamental flaws in healthcare reform law.
got it.
no, software glitch means another piece of evidence about the lack of competency of this administration. there was no beta testing before this thing went live, they chose to fix the problems on the fly. these people had three years to get this going, and they couldnt do that right. do we really want to trust our health care insurance to the government if they cant even get this right?
To be honest, its NOT an application to buy a policy, its an application to just SEE the rates... and then people don't buy because you can get cheaper for the same thing in the private insurance market by simply looking around on the web...
It's funny that you should say that .. because I discovered the same thing.
People who have never had healthcare insurance are a lot like the first time car buyer .. they have no idea how much this costs on an average day. All they see is the car and the price tag - They think that this is the way it is.
My premiums, including deductible are levels below the Gov exchange rates by a huge margin for the same type of coverage ...
I suggest, and highly, that people shop around .. stay out of the Government sponsored "exchanges" and look for some true value via the regular health insurance company portals.
I'm not exactly sure as to why the prices are so high for plans via the Government exchange, but I can probably make a few guesses ...
I've been a doctors' office and heard them telling callers that Dr. so-and-so isn't taking any new patients and Dr. other-so-and-so isn't accepting Medicaid patients. Right there you know that while the Medicaid types get off scot-free, never having to pay a dime for their unlimited free health care, they might not always get the top-notch doctors.
While it's very tempting to save a lot of my own money and get on Obama's taxpayer subsidized program, I'm afraid that quality doctors may not take the obamacare patients or agree to take fewer.
Exactly my thoughts as well.
Although my current insurance is not cheap, I have to say that I've been mostly satisfied with it. I've even been pleasantly surprised a few times by what they have covered. I'm now thinking about sticking with it. I was thinking that a new Blue Shield/ACA plan would save me about $3500/year, but if it's going to offer skimpy benefits, it's not worth the savings. And, I'll also admit - I don't want the possible stigma of having an "Obamacare plan". The word "Obamacare" could very well become synonymous with "welfare".
Why there's plenty of them, uh, uh......well.........
well? we are waiting
