No there isn't. most of the people in this country don't even give a crap about politics.
Its the politically obsessed who let politics get so much into their lives that they see things too negatively and are all miserable.

The people separate themselves. No external labeling has anything to do with it.

We have a two party system. It is We the People. vs. The federal government.
Who has the most resources?

Hate to say it but Socialist Parties never last very long.
Yes I personally do, but any rational voter does as well. Think of the first season of Survivor. The two tribes merged with 5 members each. One tribe voted as a bloc for one person. The other tribe threw out their votes randomly. The tribe that formed a bloc ended up being the final 5 people in the game.

I'm not saying what you do is stupid or wrong or that I object to it, I'm just saying it's impossible to get everyone to organize to vote outside of the 2 party system. Because if I throw my vote out to the Socialist but some liberals throw their votes to the Democrat, if the Republican voters act rationally, the Republican candidate will end up winning every time.

Without fundamental changes to the system we cannot escape a two party system.

The biggest issue I have is the fact that the two party system has so much control. Look at Ron Paul in the last election. He was winning electorates but yet the Republican Party found ways to invalidate his supports. WTF? I wish there was a way for third party candidates to gain greater traction. It just seems that the way it is set up now is that you have to be a Democrat or Republican to get elected. I don't want to kill this two party system I just don't appreciate how much control and influence they have on third party candidates and their electability. They are making it harder and harder for third party candidates. I think my frustration may be with the people who continue to vote for these fools. For instance the people who voted for Obama thought he was going to deliver on change. Well there was no change from him. Why would people elect this guy again when he didn't deliver any of his promises. People want to blame the Republicans. Obama is getting worse with domestic abuses and spying. He claimed to be against this stuff when he was a Senator. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. This can also be said for Bush. Why would you continue to support a candidate who promised peace and just created more wars. So irritating feels like I am beating a dead horse. Will get of my pedestal now.

Charlie.

People are withdrawn from talking about politics because they are disgusted with the corrupt system and they feel an individual has no say and can make no difference. This is actually a tactic by the corrupt politicians to condition the people into feeling they can't make a difference. If the people could change the system and remove the power that the corrupt politicians have over the people then the people would feel empowered to speak out and be more involved in the governance of our nation.

It can happen and the politicians know it. Ultimately the people have tremendous power and the corrupt politicians try very hard to hide this. This is why they work so hard to divide the people and flood the media with propaganda. It's a house of cards that will fall once a tipping point has been reached with people becoming aware.

The people have the numbers and it's the numbers that translate into votes.
