That said, I can't see Democrats taking back the House in 2014. I think it will be like 1998 where Democrats gain a few seats, but not enough to take it back.
Color me shocked that Democrats got more votes in states like California, outweighing other votes in lower populated districts that go Republican. So listing total votes won is kinda stupid.. Thats kinda the process and has been forever...

Democrats must be diligent and I'm sure they will be, to watch out for the GOP election surpression tactics. I cannot see them winning ANYTHING by a legit popular vote. Other than the gerrymandered all white vote districts, the country overall wants them gone. Good riddance obstructionists and do nothings. Take your snake oil where it can no longer hurt this country as most people are not buying it.

Infrastructure being repaired, cleaner air, a single payer healthcare system, more invested in education, etc. It would be great to see them outta here!

Whenever I have protested on this forum how undemocratic the Senate is, I have been told the Framers intended the Senate to be the chamber of the states, and the House was intended to be the chamber of the people. If the people voted for a Democratic House, and they got a Republican one, is it really the Chamber of the people? Not saying their gerrymandering was illegal, but the fact is America voted for a Democratic House. They cannot keep claiming a mandate when they didn't get a majority of votes.

Also there is NO SUCH THING as a lower populated district. All districts must have the same population, except for states like Wyoming that do not technically have enough population for even one district.

But not everyone in a district will vote..

So California can get 49,999 people to vote Democratic, and 1 to vote Republicans, while another area might get 25,001 Republican, and 24,999 Democratic, and the ratio is

Democrats get 74,998 Democrats to 25,002 Republicans, and yes, the final result is still 1 Democrat, 1 Republican..

The total votes are meaningless.

Especially considering this "Republican mandering" which you claim takes place, actually results in the areas being purple, and they flop back and forth. Thats how the Democrats held the House for periods of time as well.

to blame gerrymandering because Democrats lost the House is utter bull ****, unless those areas never go Democratic, and clearly they do..

Wow

Democrat Good

Republican Bad

Got it! If and when all branches of government are controlled by the dems (which will probably happen, as we have too many idiots and government dependents in the US now), why would any "red" regions want to be a part of the USA anymore?

Infinite spending, the Fed buying US bonds, and metering out a never ending "bucket" of entitlements cannot go on forever. When "music stops", there will be many, many people who are left with nothing- no food, no shelter, no water. The seeds of political instability are being sewn by reckless fiscal policy and liberal social engineering, which is creating a very volatile situation in the US.

Yes, the GOP is digging themselves deeper and deeper!

Quote:
Republican conservatives are digging in their heels and becoming even more inflexible as they attempt to blame President Barack Obama and the Democrats for the conservative House-engineered government shutdown, and insist that there will be a default unless Obama negotiates on their terms — at the same time that a series of polls now show they could lose the House in 2014.
The poll comes as House Spearker John Boehner says that the United States will be on the path to default unless Obama accepts Republican demands. Meanwhile, Texas Senator and Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz is cracking the ideological whip: he said any agreement on the debt ceiling limit has to include some kind of change to Obamacare.
The lines could not be drawn any more boldly:
Republicans are saying give us what we want, or the government is shut down, or we go into default — and it’ll be your fault that we went into default for not giving us what we wanted. The problem: this kind of politics, which has been referred to as “extortion” politics, has not been seen in American politics and suggests turning the system into a minority rule system. It would be a historical political shift in American democracy.

when you allow illegals to vote and give them welfare checks, what do you think will happen?

Is that the excuse? Typical that the GOP loses in the polls after literally craping in the punch bowl and then turns around and tries to blame illegals.
