-He kept the same Secretary of Defense until last Summer and followed what was written in the Bush Doctrine, calling for removal from Afghanistan in 2014.

-His aggressive use of drones and troop surges were a surprise, as all he campaigned on in 2008 was "bringing the troops home". He has even slated some prisoners in Guantanamo Bay for "permanent detention", while stepping up "state secrets", lessening the chance of prosecution for war crimes.

-He renewed the nineteen eighty four-ish Patriot Act and even introduced legislature that strip away more citizen freedoms--like NDAA, making Americans subject to detention without trial.

-He campaigned on "Making Wall Street accountable". He then re-appointed Bush's pick for Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke (after the economic crash that Bernanke so thoroughly failed to foresee).

-He surrounded his economic team with Goldman Sach's (Surprise, surprise).

-He kept the Corporate Welfare checks and bailouts flowing, ensuring that nobody would be helped in a poor economy except those that were rich enough to buy reps and change the rules to ultimately destroy it.

-He appointed former Monsanto VP, Michael Taylor as senior advisor for the FDA.

-He promised to leave alone state-legal marijuana dispensaries and their diverse medical patients, then had the DEA bulldoze their way in, in a surge worse than anything seen under the Bush years.

ETC.
in addition, obama promised to be the most transparent administration in history, and yet it is the most opaque.

obama proclaimed that the amount of spending bush was doing was unpatriotic, and yet he has doubled down on the spending that bush did.

and the promise to bring home the troop has started being fulfilled, but surprise surprise obama has used bushs timeline for troop withdrawal.

Why would our President lie to us, to gain or keep power? Think about that.
Why would the Democrat base, that protested these very acts, when GW. Bush got Congress to agree, Approve of Obama using executive orders for the very same things, when Congress doesn't agree?
Obama is a sleazy used car salesman.

He is constantly telling half-truths, distortions, outright lies and politicizing events.

He is also a hypocrite as you point out.

The problem isn't Obama...it is his followers that let him get away with it. Most of his supporters are ignorant and don't know enough to see the lies. The followers of his that do, almost all of them make excuses for him. The net effect is, Obama can lie and be a hypocritical as he wants, because his supporters will refuse to call him out.

Why be honest if you are Obama...no one on his side will call him out or defect to any significant degree.

Sen. Obama Said “The Fact That We Are Here Today To Debate Raising America’s Debt Limit Is A Sign Of Leadership Failure.” SEN. BARACK OBAMA:“Mr. President, I rise today to talk about America’s debt problem. The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Over the past 5 years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion. That is ‘trillion’ with a ‘T.’ That is money that we have borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, borrowed from China and Japan, borrowed from American taxpayers. And over the next 5 years, between now and 2011, the President’s budget will increase the debt by almost another $3.5 trillion.” (Sen. Barack Obama, Congressional Record, 3/16/06, p. S2237)

Obama Concluded By Saying “America Has A Debt ProblemAnd A Failure Of Leadership. Americans Deserve Better. I Therefore Intend To Oppose The Effort To Increase America’s Debt Limit.” SEN. BARACK OBAMA:“Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.” (Sen. Barack Obama, Congressional Record, 3/16/06, p. S2237)

Facts, make them go away!

In 2007, Then-Sen. Biden (D-DE) Did Not Vote During The Vote To Raise The Debt Limit. (H.J. Res. 43, Roll Call Vote 534, Adopted 53-42: R 26-20; D 26-21; I 1-1; Biden Not Voting)

In 2006, Then-Sen. Biden Voted Against The Senate Resolution To Increase The Debt Ceiling. (H.J. Res 47: Adopted 52-48: R 52-3; D 0-44; I 0-1, 3/16/06, Biden Voted Nay)

In 2004, Sen. Joe Biden Did Not Vote During The Vote To Raise The Debt Limit. (S. 2896, Roll Call Vote 213, Adopted 52-44: R 50-1; D 2-42; I 0-1; Biden Not Voting)

In 2003, Sen. Joe Biden Voted Against Raising The Debt Limit. (H.J. Res. 51, Roll Call Vote 202, Adopted 53-44: R 50-2; D 1-43; I 1-0; 5/23/03; Biden Voted Nay)

In 1984, Sen. Biden Voted Against The Senate Resolution to Increase The Debt Ceiling. (H.J. Res. 654, Roll Call Vote #290: Rejected 14-46: R 13-18; D1-28; Biden Voted Nay, 10/11/84)

In 2006, Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) Voted Against The Senate Resolution to Increase The Debt Ceiling. (H.J. Res 47: Adopted 52-48: R 52-3; D 0-44; I 0-1, 3/16/06, Reid Voted Nay)

Reid Said In 2006 That “Given The Explosion Of Debt In Recent Years… The Future Of Our Economy And Our Nation Is At Stake.”SEN. HARRY REID: “Given the explosion of debt in recent years, it is long past time for Washington to change the course and adopt a new fiscal policy. After all, the future of our economy and our Nation is at stake.” (Sen. Harry Reid, Congressional Record, 3/16/06, p. S2235)

In 2006, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) Decried A “Debt Ceiling Of $9 Trillion.” “But part of the Democrats’ plan is a call to require fiscal responsibility, following pay-as-you-go rules that prevent deficit spending. And they note that it is under a Republican president and Congress that the federal deficit has soared to new levels. ‘This is the path we were on when President Clinton was president, and we would have been debt free as a nation if we had stayed on that course of pay-as-you-go, no deficit spending, debt free as a nation in 2008,’ Pelosi said. ‘Instead, we have a debt ceiling of $9 trillion.’” (Jill Zuckman, “Democrats Promise ‘A New Direction For All Americans,’” Chicago Tribune, 6/15/06)

In 2004, Pelosi Voted Against The House Resolution to Increase The Debt Ceiling.(S. 2986, Roll Call Vote #536: Approved 208-204: R 206-2; D 2-193; I 0-1, 1/18/04, Pelosi Voted Nay)
