Destroying the people's trust in their institutions by "proving the system is broken"- by breaking it-is one of the goals of the TP monkey wrench gang in the HR.

You have to ask yourselves- what do the Koch Bros et al intend to replace our imperfect, messy democracy with?

History offers clues
And senate democrats as well as Obama refused the republican proposal to fully fun the government if ACA was delayed by just one year. There is a point-blank refusal to negotiate on both sides of the isle. You can't stick your head in the sand when it comes to your party.

I work on wall street. It is nowhere near what the news makes it out to be. The news reports on the .01% outliers while the rest of us are are more than decent people. I would trust a system run by 'Koch Bros et al' far beyond one run by republicans or democrats any day.

"Obamacare" should NOT have been a dog in this fight. Most rational Republicans knew that. But the crazy Cruz faction was DETERMINED to shut down the government. Michele Bachmann was crowing about how happy her party was!

Nope. Not this time. Tea Party nut jobs OWN IT.

In the words of Jon Stewart - don't fart and point at the dog. Words for the tea party to live by.

National Parks Service scandal
And of course The Joker that's in the Whitehouse right now will think of it as another "phony scandal".

I personally think o and Valerie Jarrett are behind the whole of the 'do whatever it takes' attitude and action taken by the NPS, the holding back of funds to families of soldiers and all the ludicrous petty partisan crap in the limelight.

This should be a thread title that is pinned to the top of the board.

We don't need to replace 'democracy'. We have a Republic.

Replace the empty suit in the WH. Right now and empty chair is looking more qualified.

Closing parks is among the least painful measures you can take during a government closedown.

Correct. It should have been repealed long ago as a majority of Americans wish.
