We have Medicare, Medicaid, and VA. Those programs are over one trillion dollars and I don't hear the right complaining about those.

There isn't. Insurance/health care is NONE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S BUSINESS.

It doesn't speak well for them that they can't understand something so simple.

Thank God I'm not one of them.

What I want to know is now that everyone is required to have insurance, what happens to the free clinics and hospitals that treat the indigent? Do they close up shop or become for profit operations? Will doctors have to their charity work abroad in countries that don't mandate health insurance?

That's because they are funded by the people using them or given because of service to the country or because someone is unable to work to support their self. They're not debatable. Charity for able bodied citizens who just want a freebie is.

Free clinics accept health insurance and those that can pay.The indigent have County health services to rely on.

Maybe it's best not to take things too literally.

What happens to those without insurance in a system that requires insurance??? There'd be no need for free clinics in such a system so it's a valid question.

Kentucky has signed up 7K people on its state site. Apparently it is a well written app, showing that there is considerable demand if they had an application that would work properly. Pretty early to be calling in the final results, don't you think? There is plenty of time.
