Do you feel obligated to say "happy holiday" instead of "Merry Christmas" (controversial, regular)

I NEVER feel OBLIGATED to say anything I don't feel like saying.......My first amendment rights guarantee that I don't have to feel OBLIGATED to say anything at all.......That being said I don't feel OBLIGATED to give a rat's azz what anyone else says either.
You miss the point. It is about control not about the actual wording/meaning of the phrase.
This is why you see 'atheists' and 'agnostics' who despise the practice because it is a form of big brother/elite ruling class telling you how you are to address people during a holiday/religious/traditional time of the year.
The original, organic, unfettered phrase that more free people uttered was/is/will be "merry christmas" then in the last 20 years in an attempt to engineer society (which I would argue successfully) has made those conform and actually scared to say "Merry Christmas" out of fear of government retaliation, lose of job, offending people, etc.
In conclusion, I'm disgusted and refuse to acknowledge people who say "Happy Holidays" not for the content or even the intent of the phrase, but because they are a feeble-minded, conformist that is nothing more than a sheep. It openly identifies you are a coward and follower.
Or maybe they say "happy holidays" because they don't celebrate Christmas.
Well, it is almost that time of the year again. People working in departments stores are instructed to say “Happy Holidays†instead of "Merry Christmas."
Well, yeah, Christmas is a religious holiday, but these days many people that are from other religions celebrate Christmas as well more as a holiday since its a large tradition in this country.
I wonder do you feel pressured or obligated to say "Happy Holiday" instead of "Merry Christmas"?
Merry Christmas! Agnostic here. I celibrate Christmas as non religous Holiday as does most of my family and put up a small portable tree occasionally. I have relatives and friends that are Non-religous, Athiest, Jewish, and even a few that are from Muslim countries that also celibrate Christmas. There are people all around the world that are not Christian that have jobs because of the Christmas Holiday. Christmas is good for everyone

I'm not scared to say Merry Christmas, I'm just not a feeble-minded conformist who celebrates a false Messiah because everyone else does.
Happy Holidays to you too. The love of your pretender shines brightly in your love and goodwill for others.

Insulting the beliefs of the majority of this nation, or for that matter anyone, doesn't exactly show you in the best light as it pertains to "love and goodwill for others", either.
I know there are a lot of loud mouthed, judgmental Christians out there, but they do not speak for the majority of us, so before you start slinging insults, keep in mind that to people like me (y'know the you-do-your-thing-and-I'll-do-mine types) you appear to be at the same level as them

You probably seriously believe this, I'm amazed. I'm stunned. There are actually people like you out there. By the way I'm not a liberal some of the accused me being right of Attila the Hun.

Totally disagree.
I've said Happy Holidays for years, for the exact reason that's been given here umpteen times, there are several holidays around this time.
I think that people who buy into the idea that the phrase "Happy Holidays" is a part of some anti-Christian, or anti-Christmas agenda are being a tad bit paranoid.
You can say whatever you want. If your employer says you can't, well you have a choice work for them and do what they say or don't. Outside of that you can say whatever you want. But don't make the mistake of thinking that just because some people are sensitive to the fact that we are all different people with different cultures/beliefs/celebrations/whatever that those people are "sheep, cowards or followers"

I'd joyfully say Merry Christmas to anyone I meet.
Christmas is just a word after all, as the time of year that we celebrate what some believe when a Savior was born, others believe that it is the celebration of the winter solstice , and others I think its just a great time for holiday.
It's just a word for flips sake.
