Wrong. LIBERALS (a.k.a., "Progressives") applaud Democrats.

We don't need to speculate about what the founders (whom you desparagingly refer to as 'dead people') thought. Their writings are preserved for all time. We know what they thought. We have their words in print.

"Progressivism," is recycled Marxist/Socialism. It doesn't work, has never worked, and it isn't going to work, no matter how often you try. It always fails.
Democrats are for progressive taxation, a stronger safety net, more effective financial regulation, and more environmental protection. None of this stuff would have seemed extremist a few decades ago.

Republicans rally around the Ryan budget, whose basic concept is to slash Medicare spending and turn the program into a voucher system, while cutting tax rates on corporations and the wealthy. Oh, and it increases the deficit too. That's extremist.

You can throw around inflammatory words like "Socialist," as an insult but in Europe, Socialist is just another political party, with the same legitimacy as other parties.

Are you joking? Let's not even get into the automatic weapons debate.
Corporations are made up of people who are owners (stockholders). Why shouldn't they have their interests be represented?

There also wasn't a global economy then.

The corporation is not a person, the people who make up the corporation are and those people already have rights.

Congress being in recess is not shutting down the government. Try to know what you are talking about. Congress these days goes on recess and we don't layoff the Commerce Department.

So, why'd you pretend that SCOTUS rulings create fact?

They do not. I am perfectly capable of reading the Constitution, as are you, and they are CLEARLY AND OBVIOUSLY WRONG.

You may have a different opinion than that of the Supreme Court. However, as a matter of law, their opinion is the one that counts. Go ask President Gore.

Actually it does. It took an amendment to override slavery, but it was considered constitutional when the Supreme Court ruled in favor of it. If you feel ACA is wrong, then write your Congress person and tell them to try to create an amendment that makes it unconstitutional. If you think you can get the support needed to make it so, then it shouldn't be hard for you.

I support the gay lifestyle for what it is. People being free to do as they please.
What I don't agree with is the religious sanctuary of marriage being used to define it.

Marriage is a promise to your GOD and your religion, not a legal contract, forced on you by government.
I'm all for government getting out of the marriage business all together, making marriage have special and separate rights, than others that are not married.
We don't need more government involved in marriage, we need less.
