Would there be a down side of going post-racial as a society? (disregarding race)
Would the down side be bad enough to warrant stamping out any progress towards a post-racial society?

It's not going to happen anytime soon. There is too much power and money involved in racial issues.

There seems to be a much larger focus on race and ethnicity than before.

I lived in Miami briefly and it occurred to me that people simply can not get over ethnicity and have no problem being irrational as well as hypocritical. Miami is supposedly well known for diversity but me being Asian was the primary trait in which I was judged by. At least "racists" white folks seem able to get beyond my ethnicity pretty easily and get down into the nuts and bolts of who I am. My husband is also white and he was looked down upon as being white bread and also assumed to be racist and unable to relate based on his race alone. Ugh.

Yeah, this is why "post-racial society" is a complete joke.

People think the whole problem is old white people....and even have to reinvent people like George Zimmerman to "white" because it doesn't fit the political narrative.

There are all kinds of idiots out there with racist views that aren't *white* and think that they have some sort of immunity due to ethnicity.

It will never happen. Our government perpetuates racial issues and it's not about to stop. It would be a huge step forward if we could get the government out of the race business. We should remove all race questions on government documents.

There will never be a post-racial society, so long as there are liberals like we have now around.

Yes... no one gives a ***** about your race and just because you're black, white etc... that doesnt make you anymore or less special.

Meh.. who cares?

Post racial this or that blah blah blah. Waste of time.

I don't care about racial progress and everyone holding hands and getting along.

Just treat worthy individuals well and dismiss people you dislike.. regardless of race. Thats the best way to go through life.

How the races get along doesn't interest me a bit. I only care about how I'm treated personally.

I already live like that. I dated inter-racially and don't care about race, just about how you are as a person. I just hate when people use their race as a crutch.
