Squirrels go nuts for First Lady’s garden in shutdown | New York Post

LOL So let me get this straight. We are actually paying for tax payer funded gardeners?!?!

1. Has this Admin cut back on anything within their Admin? Parties, gardens, vacations.... Economy hasnt been good, Americans have had to make sacrifices, yet what sacrifices have they made?

2. If her garden is in trouble, why doesnt her lazy azz get out there and do something about it? Whatsamatter, too much real work for you?

I guess we shouldnt be shocked. This is the Obama Admin, where its perfectly fine to party, see the world, not go through the budget as promised...all at our expense. And even worse, the media could care less and wont point out the hypocrisy and failed promises.

As a farmer, I would like to note that farming is work; hard, physical work.

Wouldn't you love to see here have to cook a meal or wash a dish? Now that would be a sacrifice befitting this Queen B

Oh I know. But it was her choice to do this garden. Pay for it out of her own pocket, do some of the work yourself. Have your kids do it.

This just shows you what sort of person she is. She isnt some hard worker or she really doesnt care about her garden. Seems clear that she didnt care enough to go out and do some work....or she just loves to talk about gardening but doesnt have a clue on how to do it.

I think it points to her character. Poor work ethic if you ask me. But then again, this is the same woman who was given a 6 figure job at a college, where the college made up a position for her, (ie it was not a needed position).

I don't recall a Presidential family making such a big deal about having a garden as the Obamas have.

Michelle is a firm believer in exercise. Maybe she and the girls could do some of the work in the garden? After all it is nearly the end of growing season, how much needs to be done?

yep. george washington had the idea and john adams was the first to have gardeners.

"Planning for a garden at the White House began with President Washington, who expressed a desire to plant a botanical garden. "

Seems like the Obama's are carrying on a great tradition started by the founders. Awesome.
