I agree that it will be difficult, if not impossible, for conservatives to make substantial gains in elections, as there are too many dependent, poor people in the nation now. These citizens, of course, vote democrat. Add to that 20 million illegals poised to become citizens and the demographics are stacked against conservatives.

This may be good for democrats, but not for the nation. It suggests-

1. there will be uncontrolled deficit spending for quite some time
2. there will be no cuts in entitlements
3. there will be expansion of entitlements
4. there will be increases in taxes in our future
5. even the sequester cuts will probably be reversed now
6. eventually this "plan" of continued spending will end, and it will not be pretty

How long do you think this can go on?
Well, nobody ever expected Reagan to win either. But Jimmy Carter was such a failure.

We have a similar situation today (if not much worse). Obama won because of the color of his skin. He won the second term for the same reason. But his policies have been terrible for this nation, and ObamaCare is a national nightmare. Hardly anybody wanted it, and fewer support it today.

On top of that are the myriad of scandles (IRS, NSA, Benghazi, the murder of Seal Team 6, just to name a few). The so-called exchanges don't work, which serve as an example of how socialized medicine is going to work. We are much deeper in debt, and Obama wants to raise the debt limit again. How much are we as a people (including Democrats) willing to take before they say, "Enough is enough?"

The ACA has nothing to do with socialized medicine. Your priveleges of speaking on the ACA with the benefit of the doubt of intelligence, is hereby revoked.

You should try, gasp, reading the law.

But, as long as the tea party has Michelle Bachman, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, and similar clowns as their so called ' leaders', I will never vote for you guys in a million years. Instead of focusing on the important issues (balancing the budget and come up with spending plan suggestions for example), you guys zoned in on Obamacare. Or worse yet, the typical rant about abortion, gay marriage, and other nonsense unrelated to out of control spending. Heck, even the Catholics have come to their senses and per Pope Francis, will start focusing on other important church causes instead.

Pick a reasonable adult as your leader for once, someone who is actually willing to talk sense instead of taking the economy and people's lifelyhood as your hostage. Then you'll see that people will actually listen to you more. You can probably sense my anger in my post because the truth is, I really do want to vote for a true conservative party, but you guys make it really hard (not to mention embarassing) for someone like me to even hear you, let alone vote for you.
Nope. The Tea Party's birth starts with Ron Paul. I wrote about it here, in another year, and in post #126:

Tea party is winning its war against the black middle class.

The members you list above are actually "former" GOP members which is why no progress toward reform is happening. Why, praytell? Because Democrats and Republicans are the same. The GOP knew the Tea Party movement was going to take them out and so they made way into the Tea Party and diluted them, allegedly.

Ruh, roh, nononsenseguy has friends on Facebook who are conservative and have conservative friends, people! It's all over for the left! (It's posts like this that make me love this board. You can't make this kind of **** up.)

Here's a great quote that really sums up the problem the that Cruz, the Heritage Foundation and organizations like FreedomWorks have created for the GOP:

“They have been selling the idea they know the winning Powerball numbers and we are about to hit the jackpot. Expectations of what is achievable and what we can get out of this remain way out of whack . . . Keep in mind the activists are still calling offices pushing for the full defund of Obamacare. The message has not been relayed to the grassroots that the defund option isn’t going to happen no matter how long we hold our breath or how much we wish it would happen.”

House Conservatives Revolt | National Review Online

Basically, they are still lying to their Tea Party base that they can destroy Obamacare if they just stay the course with this scorched earth strategy. And apparently, their base still believe this is going to happen. How do you appease people who are not dealing in reality?

We are NOT "adding 1 trillion a year" to the debt - the deficit has been almost CUT IN HALF from 2009.

I would like to see the GOP act as McCain did durring the first election when that ol woman in a townhall meating was worried about Obama and McCain corrected her.

We whom are moderte liberals need to start putting the extream left on check. On a very short leash.

McCain doesn't recognize that the rebels in Syria are our enemy (al-Qaeda). McCain thinks it's just wonderful to have Muslims in high places in our government (Huma Abedin, who has close family ties with the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Sisterhood, and is quite likely divulging information to our enemies.

McCain will "go along to get along." He has no backbone. Perhaps he was a "war hero" (if being shot down and imprisoned is all it takes to become a hero), but that was many years ago. It is no reason to give him defference when he acts stupidly (which he does often).

McCain is just a Democrat with an elephant pin on his lapel.

Are you really that naive? The goal of ObamaCare is to get to a single payer system. Obama himself has said it (in a speech to the SEIU). ObamaCare will drive private insurance out of business. That's what they want to do.

I would be fine with a single payer option. ACA was suppose to be single payer, but the Democrats compromised for no reason to get what we have now.

Again with the "If you don't agree with the Tea Party types you are not a TRUE Republican nonsense".
You know that is a sign that you are an extremist right?

But, keep throwing those folks overboard and your party will get smaller and smaller as time goes by (which it's ALREADY doing due to changing demographics).

"Will the last RINO leaving the building please turn out the lights".

Gotta love it.
