Actually that is hypocrisy. I am willing to admit the Democrats were guilty of that, are you willing to admit what the Republicans are doing is also hypocrisy?

Sure. And government should live by the same laws as we have to. When personal debt is so high that it can't be paid we have to cut back and they are exempt why? The American people should not be the governments piggy bank to raid at their whim... simple enough.

Absolutely and this is the countries problems one must do the opposite of the opposition. To heck if its hypocritical . Name call accuse while nothing is accomplished that's where we are in government as well as this board

What does that have to do with the debt ceiling? Interest doesn't just go away, it makes more sense to raise a self inflicted debt ceiling while trying to budget needed cuts as well as grow the GDP.

Cut back in other places to pay the interest. Then cut more to get the debt down so the interest payments will be reduced.

Different economic times. You should be reducing the debt in good times...increasing it in bad.

And private wars should be paid for with increased taxes or offsetting savings.
