She's been there for 10 years. Which means in all probability she probably didn't have children when she started working there. And if she did, probably only one child. Why did she have one, or maybe even two, children while working at $8.25 per hour?
There are smart people in the world, and there are dumbasses. She seems to qualify for the latter.
Government involvement has raised the cost of living by at least 20%.
So minimum wage has to rise. Or Minimum wage people are second grade citizen-they dont deserve raise relative to increase in cost of living while CEO should get millions more in compensation. What motivation employee will have when he/she is earning beggar like wages.
LOL... So since there is no 100% gaurentee she'll get a better job or better position, she should just stay put and flip burgers forever without attempting to obtain a better job.
It may not be worth it look at all the college graduates who can not find jobs in the fields they went to college at.

That's true. I'll reiterate what I stated before, as well. A college or university degree nowadays seems to only buy you an expensive ticket to working in a cubicle to be a corporate drone. Anyone can do that, with or without the degree.
Getting skills or degree is no guranetee of a better job nowadays plenty of college graduates can not find jobs but that garbage answer is always spewed out by the Right Wing.

Wonderful attitude you have.

Raising minimum wage would do nothing but drive more people into poverty. If a person doesn't already have the necessary skills to draw a higher wage, they need to take steps to gain enough experience for a market to give them a higher wage. What can they do to show a company that they deserve to gain that experience? What bargaining power do they have with a company to get their foot in the door? They can offer to work for less. If a person can work for less money than someone with more experience, knowledge and skill, a company will have a financial incentive to hire that person. Once that person has a very low wage job, they can then actually gain the experience and knowledge to be more productive, which in turn garners a higher wage in the employment marketplace.
If you raise minimum wage you do nothing but remove one of the only bargaining chips that low-skill workers hold. That drives more of them into cyclical poverty.

What motivation would high earners have if the lazy, incompetent and unqualified make the same as you do?

Never said that you are just throwing out a strawman. Of course you should try but it does not matter if someone is not smart goes to college they just gonna fail and it is a waste of money. There are not enough higher paying jobs for everyone so just getting more skills or education is not gonna make a higher paying job appear for everyone.

Congratulations.
I would like to see evidence that min wage just drives more people into poverty seems something you made up. In the real world experience and knowledge may get you raises maybe not. There are also other reasons you may or may not get raises. Or the employer may just be a jerk and never give raises because they can do that to. People need to start at a wage they can live on or else we will keep paying for government assistance for them.
