Better take a better look into that.

He is ALWAYS given an excuse. ALWAYS! Even when he is wrong, he is right, because he HAS to be right!
The problem is, EVERYTHING he has said since day one (and even long before) was recorded! Every statement, every speech, is readily available for review! He can NOT hide from it!
It's true that he cannot hide from it, yet his mindless supporters will ignore any evidence of it and even make myriad moronic excuses for him.

A history lesson.

GW Bush inherited a balanced budget from B. Clinton. But GW Bush did $2.5 trillion dollars in supply side tax cuts (these are tax cuts for the rich.)

These tax cuts caused our government to get less revenues, and this created deficits and that $2.5 trillion dollars in deficits went to our national debt.

Then GW Bush attacked Iraq in the name of Sept 11 (but Iraq had nothing to do with Sept 11.) GW Bush wasted $850 billion dollars attacking Iraq, and all that money is going to our deficits and national debt.

Obama inherited all of GW Bushs deficits and debt, but Obama has cut GW Bush's debt growth rate in half. And Obama has decreased our deficits faster than any pace in the last 60 years.

Obama has fixed things.

How it is, then, that the current national debt stands at over $17-trillion, when in 2008 it was under $10-trillion?

I already explained that: OBAMA CAN DO NO WRONG!

If there is a problem, it HAS to be somebody else's fault; either bush, or the House, or the American people, or somebody. It just CAN'T be obama's fault!

Funny how $4 trillion in debt after eight years was called "unpatriotic and irresponsible" by 0bama in 2008, and only a partisan, boot-licking 0bama hack would claim over $7 trillion in new debt over five years is none of these.

Obama became president on January 20th 2009.

Many of GW Bush's tax cuts have been extended and they are still going on, and still creating deficits and debt today (so their cost is over $2.5 trillion dollars.) We are also still paying for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and this extra spending is still creating deficits and debt.

The total cost for the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan is at least $3.2 - $4 trillion dollars, and all of that money is going to our debt. An update in 2013 topped this spending at possibly $6 trillion dollars.

Financial cost of the Iraq War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Obama also spent $800 billion dollars on his recovery act. But if you look at the following source you will see that money went to help regular Americans (unlike Bush's wasted spending on tax cuts for the rich, and the unneeded Iraq war.)

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you look at the following source you will see Obama took office when GW Bush's deficits were going up with much momentum. And if you look at the "Growth Rate YoY" section you will see that Obama has cut GW Bushs debt growth rate in 1/2.

I believe other factors can cause our deficits and debt to rise and fall, and you can't blame the president in office for these changes.

I apologize if I was rude,
Chad.

Well, as much as I disliked Bush, Obama is to blame for what's happened under his watch. He could have cut spending and stopped wars upon his election. He also had majorities in both houses of Congress. He didn't do that.

He did both. It's that simple.
