The gloating is making me sick. All the news lately is how the shutdown made the GOP look like chumps, spoiled angry children who tried to blackmail the country.

Well the GOP may look bad now, but a lot of Americans tend to have short memories. They can end up forgetting this Democrat spin come election time if Obamacare continues to be a mega disaster.

The FACT is the rollout of Obama has been a massive bomb. Millions of taxpayer dollars were invested in the signup website, and it is a broken mess. But the government expects millions of people to get signed up before January 1st? What if it is not fixed, and the American people are forced to pay the tax penalty? The Democrats had three years to get their act together, and this is a clear sign that Obamacare is a bloated mess that will cost us more, take away our freedom and just make life a whole lot more complicated. We already live in a country where many Americans have to pay someone just to figure out how to pay the government with our personal income tax. Now that same entity is going to control our healthcare. Wonderful.

The only thing the Republicans were demanding in the shutdown was to delay the personal mandate portion for at least a year. This would have given Obama's team more time to get their ducks in a row. But because Obama was so stubborn in refusing to compromise, he faces some real criticism from the American people who will feel the sting of a system that punishes you for not buying a product. And those who are lucky enough to get enrolled are finding out that this is not cheap affordable insurance. If Obama choses to delay the mandate again, this reflects poorly on his legislation. Sounds like a no-win situation.

oh please, if he would have given a 1 year delay, republicans would still be attacking it, trying to dismantle it. ever since it became law, republicans have shown no interest in helping fix any issues with the law, so forgive me if I don't by that line that delaying to get his ducks in a row is some type of good faith offer.

I see our Republican friends are still in denial about how pissed off the American people are at them for the government shut down they caused.

Why the heck should the repubs even attempt to fix what the dems passed without reading it?

The only thing you're right about is that the ACA rollout has been botched. Everything else you said is bitter right wing claptrap.

The FACTS are... Americans clearly repudiated the reprehensible shutdiwn / threaten default tactics of the GOP. There are plenty of different polls that all say the same things.

You don't compromise with thugs who threaten the nation's economy in their attempt to overturn a law they have no political mandate to overturn. You exposed them for the thugs they are, which is what happened.

Of course, since right wingers running the show are bitter thugs, they ate now happy to dismiss what The People have clearly told them. They basically say that The People are dumb and that they don't care what they think.

if you don't want to help fix it, you certainly have a right not to, but my point to the OP was, don't act you were doing obama some big favor by only requesting to delay it for 1 year, so he can fix whatever issues he has right now. If he would have accepted a delay, republicans would still be in relentless attacks and doing everything in their power to stop the program from operating.

Uh, cuz maybe they should be interested in trying to solve the health care crisis in the US, instead of throwing a monkey wrench into the works?

There is only one "fix", which is to repeal it. There is NOTHING in it that needs saving.

Do you really think that the dems or repubs even care? Really?

Over the last 50-60 years it's been about 50/50 who controlled congress....and now you are telling me that congress cares...after the way the ACA was passed?

No crisis existed.

Obamacare is making one, however.

And you'll demand that the people who created this monstrosity be given MORE money, MORE control, MORE power. Why? I cannot for the life of me imagine.
