Because doctors in my network typically have long lines and I'm in line with ignorant poor ghetto rats and trailer trash. I want to bypass those lines.

I thought that they didn't have insurance to start with. I am in an HMO, make an appointment, show up at that time, wait time isn't long at all.

I don't believe you're a serious 'academic.' If you were, you'd understand the absurdity of statistically analyzing a single data point.

And I thought few doctors accepted Medicaid. What gives? Something's not adding up

This is the internet. Anyone can say anything. I respect your opinion on not believing my academic background.

I'm asking you to provide evidence on cash only doctors as a group and determine their motivation as a group. That will help address your assertion through data rather than flawed intuition.

Again, no surprise of that recent revelation that Tea Party folks are positively correlated with being scientifically aware.
Your academic credentials are severely in question if you interpret that study as above. The correlation was very small. You may do a search here on CD.

The medical outfit my doctor is working for is seriously considering dropping all insurance and going fee only, it ain't just the South. They haven't done it so far because the hospital they are affiliated with is pressuring them not to.

i don't have a strong opinion about doctors going cash-only; i've talked to some doctors about this, though, and they seemed to think that it is a morally wrong thing for a doctor to do.

What would make paying your doctor directly and keeping your records private from all the governments prying eyes, morally wrong????????

I'm I missing something?

I feel forcing me to buy a product is morally wrong, by controlling me by force.
