Geez - Obama is screwing up all of our long time foreign alliances. Over 80 years being friends with Saudi Arabia, and it's going down the drain, because why?? ...he favors the Muslim Brotherhood?

Yeah, Saudi Arabia, a country that funded Western hate-mongering madrassahs , the origin of of Osama bin Laden, the 9/11 hijackers, and home to one of the most radical, oppressive sects of Islam..

We should give a rat's ass what those back stabbing weasels think about Obama because?

Obama should design a health care system for the Syrian Government just out of spite.

I agree about the difference on being an alliance and a puppet. This should be something Obama can smooth out.

However, our foreign policy approach has changed drastically under Obama from past years. Just as we are not their puppet - they are not our puppet either. Not saying if they are right or wrong - but they are reacting to these changes.

Yes, foreign policy under Obama has changed. And I'm mostly in favor of the changes. If the Marquis de Mittens were elected, right now he'd be planning an invasion on Iran, if it hadn't happened already. Syria would have been wiped off the map.

The Saudi's have been "friends" of the USA? Really? Whatever it is you've been smoking ... it's time to switch.

in that entire article and op, the only thing that is actually a quote is "major shift". Everything else is BS that the author assumed.

By the way Saudi Arabia has their own military, if they wanted to strike Syria, then they should have.

So, Saudi Arabia threatens a "major shift" in relations with the United States to protest against perceived American inaction over Syria's civil war and recent US overtures to Iran? Who are they going to shift to, Russia?

The Saudi Arabian dictatorship cares about two things, 1) Money to fuel their lavish lifestyles. 2) Staying in power. I don't see how either of those things are an American priority. Maybe if oil revenue was more evenly distributed among the people, instead of just the princes, there would be less tension in the nation.

Upset at President Barack Obama's policies on Iran and Syria, members of Saudi Arabia's ruling family are threatening a rift with the United States that could take the alliance between Washington and the kingdom to its lowest point in years.

Saudi Arabia's intelligence chief is vowing that the kingdom will make a "major shift" in relations with the United States to protest against perceived American inaction over Syria's civil war and recent US overtures to Iran, a source close to Saudi policy said.

...
The growing breach between the United States and Saudi Arabia was also on display in Washington, where another senior Saudi prince criticised Obama's Middle East policies, accusing him of "dithering" on Syria and Israeli-Palestinian peace.

The US and Saudi Arabia have been allies since the kingdom was declared in 1932, giving Riyadh a powerful military protector and Washington secure oil supplies.

I guess that all the bowing and ass kissing isn't working?

Your previous comments say other wise.

Also, this is not the government of Saudi Arabia, this is one high ranking person who is speaking for himself.
