Florida Woman's Insurance Rate Increases 10X Under Obamacare

One Florida woman is going from paying $54 a month to $591 under Obamacare, CBS reports:
"For many, their introduction to the Affordable Care Act has been negative: A broken website, and now cancellation notices from insurance companies, followed by sticker shock over higher prices for the new plans," says a CBS reporter. "It's directly at odds from repeated assurances from the president."
"When I got this bill, I was outraged," CBS quotes a 56-year-old Florida resident who got dropped from her health care plan.
Her new plan will be 10 times higher than what she's paying now, jumping from $54 a month to $591.
"What I have right now is what I'm happy with, and I just want to know why I can't keep what I have," says the woman. "Why do I have to be forced into something else?"
Oh please. $54 a month for insurance? For a 56 year old? Please. what did it cover, a monthly supply of tylenol?
I suppose for those lacking in critical thinking this might spark some outrage. But most of us are probably wondering what the details are.....
I am a conservative, but I question what kind of policy this woman had for $54/month unless 80% of her premium was paid for by her employer and she doesn't actually know what full policy amount is.
Sure sounds like some of these stories are just made up. There is no such thing as health plan for $54 for 50+ yr old people.
Sure there is. My example is no stretch. We have seen example after example after example of this.
The lady works for employer A. They subsidize part of her health care as a part of her employment package. Her share is $54. With the new regulations in place the company decides that this is no longer feasible for them and they drop the health care benefits.
No indication if this is an individual or family plan. No way $54/ month covers a family and no way healthcare.gov's plan are $600 for an individual. She hasn't gone to healthcare.gov (claims she can't log in) and hasn't applied the tax credits.
She is now stuck paying nearly $600./QUOTE]No indication if this is an individual or family plan. No way $54/ month covers a family and no way healthcare.gov's plan are $600 for an individual. She hasn't gone to healthcare.gov (claims she can't log in) and hasn't applied the tax credits.
CBS must be racist.
