Just a reminder to all amidst all of the ObamaCare chatter...

ObamaCare, the exchanges, the debate over costs, the programming snafus, whether or not you can keep your insurance... these are all sideshows. These are all parts of the process.

The goal is a single payer government controlled health system. We need to fight against this - even if that means we need to prop up and fix this phony program for a time. The quicker ObamaCare fails, the quicker we get to single payer.

The other problem is there are no widely known better options that have been put forth. Some doctors are scrapping their use of the entire insurance industry - which is good - but we need something that at least 40% can get behind with some legislation in DC. In other words, the single payer program needs a competitive alternative.

If those who want a single payer program were upfront and to the public that they wanted a health care system - that would be normal. We could discuss the merits like adults and decide whether or not that's the kind of system we want.

But the fact that we have to be tricked to getting to the single payer system is bad news on many fronts.

1- We are wasting a ton of money on a Trojan horse program (ObamaCare) that is never meant to see the light of day as a full fledged functioning program.

2- What is planned for the single payer program that can't be discussed? It's going to be via a "crisis" that a single payer system is invoked. Which means no one will look at the details, and it will be rushed through - just like ObamaCare.

3- What does this whole scenario say about how Obama and the rest view Americans. We are to be herded into our cages like cattle. That's what ObamaCare is - the attempt to herd the public into these phony exchanges - then they shut the back gate and we are trapped with no options. We are not to be reasoned with like adults - because they won't get what they want, which is control over every aspect of our lives.
-----------------------

The ObamaCare Awakening

The millions of Americans who are receiving termination notices because their current coverage does not conform to Health and Human Services Department rules may not realize this is by design. Maybe they trusted President Obama's repeated falsehood that people who liked their health plans could keep them. But Americans should understand that this month's mass cancellation wave has been the President's political goal since 2008. Liberals believe they must destroy the market in order to save it.

The red above is the wrong conclusion, but at least the author understands the intent.

The author? As in you know so little that you have to paste other people's opinions here?

Just using the opinion to back up my assertion that in general, the Obamacare problems are by design.

Personal attacks are all you people have.

The US was using the only alternative to single payer insurance in developed countires. We have some of the highest health care costs, and lowest quality outcomes, out of all of them. Right now we rank 38th...next to Costa Rica and Slovenia.

The alternative we have made in this country has failed.

This isn't some vast liberal conspiracy of elites, Obamacare, false flags, and puppets. It's just a sobering reality we all face in this country. Trying to make it out to be this epic conspiracy is lunacy.

So you don't believe Obama wants a single payer program?

And the other alternative is to have people pay for their own care - like we used to do. Health care costs would drop a ton if people were actually the customers of the doctors and hospitals - but that is not the case now.

I guess you and your enlightened conservative brethren should be fighting against Medicare because Medicare is a single payer program.

The OP is exactly right ! The goal is for the government to take over health care.

It is less about what Obama wants and more about what Congress can put together in a bill. Unfortunately the Republicans kicked and screamed until the Democrats compromised and removed the single payer option.
