Let me explain my situation. I'll be blunt.
I moved to L.A. CA from Lemoyne, PA. and got married to my long time gf. Before I moved I did some job research and it looked pretty good. Lots of hiring. I'm clean cut with no showing tattoos.
However when I got here I landed a job for a cleaning company. I noticed the entire office staff were Latino except the owner. At the job site the entire crew were Latino. Thats ok I get along with everyone. I was told I was doing a great job by the site supervisor. Then 2 months later I get called to the headquarters and terminated for not being a good fit. They gave me a paper saying this. Not violating any company standards, just not a good fit.
Then 18 months ago I landed a job at a burger joint. The owners were white as am I. I worked there for the past 18 months. Again told I'm doing a great job and even get a raise. The owners sell the business to a Latino couple who appear very nice. All of a sudden my schedule goes from 5 days a week down to 4 hours a week.
My question is...is this common in the Los Angeles area? Do white people have problems securing and maintaining employment because of this stuff? If anyone has any thoughts I'd appreciate hearing them.
In PA I was always able to secure and keep working. But here in L.A. it just seems I'm being pushed aside because I'm not Latino.
You're going to have a hard time proving anything.
Especially considering the fact that MILLIONS of whites in Los Angeles work with Asians, Blacks, Middle-Easterners, Polynesians, Native Americans and Hispanics (and every combination of those) and have for decades and decades.
My guess it's got more to do with the fact that the OP is working in jobs where people get hired and fired and have their hours juggled. It's the nature of the jobs he works in and lots of people can do those jobs. OP: learn a skill. (And take a look around you. In L.A. everyone and his sister has a tattoo. Have you not noticed that?)

Thanks everyone.
I think I'll need to get an educational loan and get training in something professional. Maybe then I won't have to take these types of jobs where that stuff is allowed to happen.
In both instances I was told I was doing a great job. You'd think they weren't lying about it. I also got along great with coworkers.
