NEVER count the gun control nut cases out. they will keep digging in every way they can, they are insidious in their efforts.
Indeed they will, and they are their own worst enemy. Every time they open their gobs, Alaska makes it easier to obtain firearms and eliminates laws that restrict firearms.
As a result of the Assault Weapons Ban Act of 1994, Alaskan citizens passed an amendment to the State Constitution with 77% of the vote that November.
"A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The individual right to keep and bear arms shall not be denied or infringed by the State or a political subdivision of the State. [Amended 1994]" --- Article I, Section 19, Alaska State Constitution.
After Obama and Holder were exposed as the culprits behind the Fast & Furious illegal gun-running scam, Alaska passed the Firearms Freedom Act in May 2010. The FFA exempts the State of Alaska from ALL federal regulation concerning firearms for those firearms manufactured, sold, and used exclusively in Alaska.
Finally, now I can buy that Alaskan-made fully-automatic bear deterrent with a 5,000 round capacity that I have always wanted.
This. I've been fighting gun control nuts in California since the 1980's. It NEVER goes away.
I was forced to flee California, the State of my birth, for Alaska after the gun control nuts turned me into a criminal overnight for firearms I had legally purchased in California years before. That was 22 years ago, and I have no regrets.
Gun control is one of those areas I greatly disagree with Democrats on. There are sensible restrictions, and then there are the restrictions mainstream Democrats want, which is stupid
people have been making zip guns since there have been bullets.
Yeah I don't get this whole 3D printing craze when it comes to guns. What you spend on getting the machine and the parts and "ingredients" for it, you could have bought a mansion with that money. The only explanation I can come up with is gun fetishism, which is weird.
The debate over gun control will never be dead and to think otherwise would just be irresponsible on our part.
Especially with a new mass shooting or attempted mass shooting in the news every week it seems.
