Of course not. I highly doubt anyone really cares. Just the left scoring points against him. That said, if Obama were accused of plagiarism, we all know the right would use that to score points.

It's the way that he is handling it that is more problematic. The guy of "personal responsibility" is failing miserably at owning up to it.

No. Didn't Biden have his own plagiarism issues in 1988, 2004, and 2008? And look at him now. He's Vice President.

Rand Paul's affiliation with the teabagger party is much more of a political liability than the plagiarism, which is simply due to "employee error".

I only partially looked at this, but I am not sure it is plagiarism. One should attribute, but I didn't see the written speech. Granted verbally referencing should be done, as well, but I didn't see the speech either. Just some people writing and talking about it.

If a ref was left out this can be a mistake, but ultimately he probably didn't write his speech. Were there no refs? So many people discussing this with out what I would consider basics.

Far more pressing issues going on. Like the TPP fast tracking no one is really discussing.

We will see how big an issue it is when and he runs for President...Before he answers questions from the media and Democrats, Rand will have to answer to fellow Republicans first. If is isn't an issue to those campaigns, then I'll be surprised.

Only to people capable of producing intellectual property. To present someone's work as your own without attribution is blatant theft.

Maybe we can get Rand Paul vs. Joe Biden in 2016. And maybe Sanford-Weiner as the running mates. All scandals would be pre-defused, and we could actually discuss issues.

Really? He is failing to own up to it?

Well, let's see...In USA Today:

"Ultimately, I'm the boss, and things go out under my name, so it is my fault," he said. "I never had intentionally presented anyone's ideas as my own."

So that's what you call failing miserably to own up to it? If saying "it's my fault" isn't owning up to something, then what is? Should he have gone out on the Senate floor and committed ritual suicide?

But of course Obama just "misspoke" when he said people could keep their insurance twenty times, right?
