And there you have it. Does anyone honestly think the whole last few months hasn't been orchestrated by the Cyrus family, the publicist, the manager and the agent in order to bring publicity to a child star whose career had plateaued?
Every single instance has been made to bring the maximum exposure and publicity without any overt or implied illegality.

What can you say. The Dutch lawmakers back in the 1980s made sure Holland would be known for drugs, prostitution, gays, and other moral decay and US is following that example.
Holland has less problem with drug violence, crimes and addiction.
In Portugal, ALL drugs were decriminalized recently and by most accounts is a success. Surely not anything worse than before. Less resources wasted on prohibition.
Wars on drugs simply do not work anymore than wars on alcohol or cigarettes.
The people yearn to be free. If you want to yoke yourself into self-imposed bondage to your book of bronze age fairy tales, go for it. Jews, Christian, Muslim, Hindu... have fun. Order YOUR life around YOUR beliefs, but keep your religion out of mine. This is where the Netherlands gets it right.
But, if you cannot control your own behavior while others live in accordance with their beliefs in a place with freedom and liberty.... then perhaps it is YOU who needs to look elsewhere to live. Plenty of places in the Middle East have got similar outlooks on morality that you do. Go for it.
As for "gay marriage" being moral decay, that is only through the paradigm of the bronze age myths.
Frankly, I find it immoral when people use their holy books to enslave the minds and bodies of the citizenry. Or when people are denied their rights. Again, I have this perspective because I am suited to life in modern Western Civilization. You may not be. Some introspection might be in order.
Miley thought she is cool and people in holland and all over the world will like her so called cool behavior but the Dutch newspapers came out today stating that The city of Amsterdam is not happy at all and this is not the image they want to portray.
As a Dutch born person I know how annoying it is when people ask where you are from and the first things they say is;
- weed/ coffee shops
- gay marriage ( although after being the first country now many countries have followed and defiantly not all Dutch people are in favor of gay marriages but many are in favor of equal legal rights for same sex couples as for couple of opposite sexes)
Back in the days people would say about holland;
- wooden shoes
- beautiful canal views and historic buildings
- tulips/ flowers / Keukenhof
- Rembrandt and Vincent Van Gogh
Now Miley is trying to ruin the image even more all for her few minutes of additional fame and if that is her way of becoming a role model than please black her out on tv!
None of the above is Miley Cyrus' fault. Amsterdam has its "image". Actually, I'm glad to see you defending the Netherlands for a change, since you're a native.

I rarely, possibly never, agree with this OP, but she's not a native English speaker, so I think we should cut her a break in the spelling department.
I won't argue there, no different than the people who care more about what is going on with their sports teams than DC. Using entertainment as a distraction is an age old tool that we all use for many different reasons.
I love a punk band from Lebanon that was risking their lives to put on concerts in clubs because they felt people needed a distraction from the violence that was going on around them. Distractions can sometimes be good for people. If we paid attention to everything DC all the time we would go insane.
Oh don't get me wrong, I like my entertainment. However; I'm picky as to what I like when it comes to it. I like ALL comedy no matter how politically incorrect it can be. I don't like watching too much tv these days, as there is nothing but crap on. The only time I can sit in front of the tv for a long period of time is on Saturdays and Sundays during football season. Other sports, not so much. Or to watch Sons of Anarchy marathons when the weather sucks (like now). I can't stand reality tv shows. My wife is into all of the cooking reality tv shows, and basically I leave, and either hang with the neighbors outside, or in their garage when the weather is cold. I used to be able to watch The Weather Channel for hours at a time (especially during tornado season) as I've always been fascinated with weather, but even their format has become dull. Honestly, at this point I'd rather listen to music more than anything else. As a former DJ I like a wide range of it, so I can listen for hours.

You are right about how the Dutch image has changed over the years, and not for the better. However you are wrong to lay it at the foot of a current entertainer who is desperately trying to pull a Madonna to keep in the media spotlight.
The extreme liberal policies of your native country have caused it's reputation. So the Dutch only have themselves to blame until they get their act together.
Mandating immigrants speak Dutch or leave is a good start. Lets see if they will have the steel to follow through.
I don't think they cared about her smoking a J, I think they were appalled by her abusing/degrading a "little person."
