LOL..I thought elections had consequences? I guess not for Dems, just change the rules after losing an election. They ALWAYS do this and then blame the other side for doing it. The Democratic party is nothing short of complete and utter Communist rule.

Quote:
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Days after a Republican was elected mayor of Annapolis, City Council members say they will revisit legislation that would strip the mayor’s office of much of its power.
Democratic Alderman Ross Arnett of Ward 8 tells The Capital he will introduce a charter amendment to move Annapolis to a council-manager style of government. The city manager would report directly to the City Council, not the mayor.
City Elects First Republican Mayor Since 1997

Here is an interesting read on exactly what is going on inside the Dem party, AKA, Progressive/Marxist/Communist

yes, elections have consequences. It means they're going to have to actually vote on something. Remember, liberal politicians DO NOT respect the people, nor do they care in the slightest about their mantra "democracy", which is just a word to exploit when elections do go your way, and to ignore when they don't.

Liberalism today IS nothing other than naked aggressive pursuit of power and control, for the sake of power and control.

"Since our guy didn't get into office we'll do what we can to prevent him from doing anything".

So much for bowing to the vote of the people eh ?

Arnett, or someone else, has introduced this nearly every year for the last couple decades. Some sponsors have been Republicans in that time.

I will grant that it does look suspicious in that Pantelides wasn't supposed to beat the "immensely popular" (but arrogant and rude as Hell) Josh Cohen. Annapolis is very much a "retail politics/all politics is local" city.

Democrats in Maryland are evil, power hungry pigs. There is no other way of stating it.

Honestly, this is nothing new.

Local governments have done similar things like this before or have strategized to make a mayor obsolete. Harold Washington in Chicago comes to mind.

Which is why both of the main parties are enemies of the American People. They care about their party before they care about the country or the people's vote.
