People forget us older folks remember the days when the Democrats in the South were standing at school doors blocking black kids from enrolling in white schools. It was on the newscasts every night. Only the younger generation can be fooled and it seems some are just fine doing it.
Those were southerners. Democrats in the rest of the country had little in common with them. Why should we care?

Yes, they are. Yes, Dems blocked the schools. Own up to the mistakes of your party, Dems. You are running out of room if you keep separating. You've blocked off the west coast, you've blocked off the south....you think the midwest is full of trailer dwelling, redneck Republicans, which means that thus far, the only place you'll claim is the north east. I'm sure we could dig up all kinds of Dem mess in the north east. The point is, you can't escape the things that your party did. Instead of trying to shift the blame, learn from it.

Lincoln was a Whig who left that party, was disenchanted with the Democratic party and went and joined the Republican party.
Hopefully there will remain history sites that retain the facts and don't allow the rewrite of history to suit agendas.

I didn't say that. What I did say is the Democratic party varied by region: southern democrats were often very different from democrats in the rest of the county. This black politician in the 60s was a democrat:
When will ABC / NBC / CBS / CNN / MSNBC / NPR / NYT
etc. "teach" that it was the DEMOCRATS who:
1. Began the KKK as their terror arm targeting blacks
and black supporters?
2. Embraced eugenics & abortion to remove "undesirables" - with
blacks at the top of the list?
3. Were the party of slavery?
4. Segregated the army (Wilson) and it took a REPUBLICAN to fix it?
5. Rounded up the Japanese in America & put them in internment camps (FDR)?
6. Never ever ever ever ever EVER offered a piece of legislation to advance
civil rights for blacks until the 1960's and even THEN it took REPUBLICANS to
get it done?
7. LBJ, a democrat, upon signing the civil rights act said "I'll have them
N words voting democrat for 200 years"?
8. HOSED and HUNG and committed MOST of the violence against blacks in the
1960's & 1970's?
