Jedediah Smith didn't need a sewing machine.
You didn't get my joke. However, you'll get a big infection if you try to sew up your own wound.

I've sewed many garments over the years, including one daughter's prom dress, drapes for several windows of my house and so on, and I would never hand sew when I could machine sew.

What a dumb comment about liberals.

Or $175 per semester, if you don't want the "gold plan".

You can select the Wardenburg Campus Care supplemental plan which provides basic health care coverage on campus for $175/semester with no additional out-of-pocket costs;

You can do some research to see if the Student Gold Health Insurance Plan might better fit your student's health care needs; or

You can waive all university coverage and rely on your policy (students can be on their parent’s policy until age 26). Please keep in mind that Wardenburg Health Center does not bill non-university insurance plans.

Ohhhh...a "madcow" joke. How unexpected, new and different.

Maybe this will serve as a good life lesson. Politicians of any color are only interested in your vote... And the love affair ends there.

I didn't see any actual content in your reply, just remarking on Madcow. Maybe it was a technical glitch?

I admit, I'm only hating on Darth Vader because he's black. Sorry, I mean Sith-American.

I'd argue that the impact was positive and promoted democratic principles, instead of giving rural areas massive disproportionate power in state legislatures. We are a better country because of that reform.
The House of Reps was called "The people's house" for a reason. Once the 17th was made an amendment what good is the senate? What purpose does it serve if it's members are elected exactly like the House, except they have a six year term?

After the 17th became the law, US senators no longer worked with the state officials who sent them to Washington, and they had no motivation to represent interests of the state. The senate is now filled with self-serving politicians working towards their own selfish interests; they spend time with corporate, and K Street lobbyists, big campaign donors, partisan political consultants, and special interest advocacy organizations. Look at the US Senate today, their loyalty is to the president, their donors, corporate lobbyists, and scoring petty partisan political victories over the other side of the isle, they are not beholden to the interests of states they claim to represent.

This was plainly obvious in 2010 when the dems rammed Obamacare down our throats. Even though the vast majority of 27 states opposed the ACA law. In Virginia, both of their senators, Mark Warner and Jim Webb, voted for Obamacare, despite opposition by Virginia state legislature. Virginia's state attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli, was one of the first to bring a lawsuit to overturn the law, and yet Obamacare still passed in the US Senate by 60 votes.

My cancellation letter from my insurance company listed the exchange as a way to get insurance. They did not offer an automatic replacement option.
