News, Colorado Mulls Making Abortion Illegal.
A proposed amendment to the Colorado Constitution that would bestow legal rights on fertilized human eggs may be put on the ballot in 2008 and if passed it could make abortion illegal in the state.
The one-paragraph measure would ask voters whether inalienable rights as defined in the state Constitution should be extended to any human being from the moment of fertilization.

I am sure those in Colorado wanting abortions will just leave the state and get it there, except those too poor to do this. No one will ever stop abortions, they have been happening all throughout human history.

Very true; Middle Class on up women will continue to have access to abortion.......Dr's will simply label the procedure something else.
NOTE: I do have major heartburn with most abortions; but, my being a man, I have no say-so. If I 'play' with a woman who is not known to be sterile, it is my butt in a sling if she winds up preggers.

South Dakota tried and the law was overtuned by voters. Another wedge issue to rev up the religious right before the '08 election.

This says nothing about the values of the people because it didn't come from the people. It came from a FEW people with values you approve of. It suggests that some people value intrusion into other people's lives more than giving those same people the right to have values of their own.
