Firmly welding government and religion together...there is NO Freedom from, or of, Religion in the US.
Ike was smart enough to know that you can't trust people, let alone persons.

In this regard he was just being hyperthetical.

God ain't religion, people are!

Yes, it should be. Banks are private institutions though.

Yeah, we're also not divisible, According to that.

Try reading some politics threads. Indivisible, my ass.
There wasn't an "under God" in the pledge until the 40s or 50s I believe.

Most folks I know don't care, or really even look at their money. I use mostly my cards, which have no mention of God. I can't say there is no God, or that there is one. The only real answer is, I don't know.

And "god" doesn't pay the bills...MONEY does.

I have trusted in God and it has worked out. Thanks to His Grace I have a healthy family, a loving wife, two great kids, a roof over their heads, food on the table, and the means to keep my family that why while helping others. It didn't take money to do this, it took my faith in my Lord and Savior.

There's a lot of people who don't believe in god that have all the things you just mentioned including faith in something.

I (and many others) was born disabled. That "god" can't even construct a human properly. Why should I trust him?

According to some interpretations (not mine) of God, you were born as a lesser human being because you sinned in your last life. Perhaps you should behave better.

Wow. Talk about being uncivilized. There's no need to insult religious people.
