That cannot be disputed.
No one is disputing that. The big-wigs did and do want their membership to vote Democratic. And the reason is plain and simple. Because the right wants to destroy them. And I say that from the right. The right needs to remember what many of the unions USED TO stand for. In the days before public unions took center stage. Years ago, union work stood for quality. It meant that skilled craftsmen were going to do the work correctly, for a living wage. It meant that not only did the companies make money, but so did the working man. (Is it that way now... no. I'm not arguing that fact. Although there are still some trades that yes the union side is still much better). But you did say, and I quote:

Quote:
Unless the tradesman is smart enough to work for himself......most tradesmen that I know are too undisciplined to work for themselves.
That simply is a false statement.. You obviously don't know the RIGHT tradesmen. There can be a happy medium between the labor unions, the general public, government, and the companies who employ them. The problem is... like with everything these days... it's either so far to the left or so far to the right and neither side is willing to budge.

I think you nailed it with the "dumb as a sack of rocks" statement.

Half the people in this country vote against their own interests. So what? Why single out tradesmen?

Why do so many farmers with their big fat government checks vote Republican?

I know it might surprise some of you, but there are Americans that vote on other issues besides some SINGLE issue that directly affects them personally.

I'm a cog in the defense establishment...and I wouldn't vote Republican to save my life even if it eventually costs me my job (and it will eventually).

It's their vote to cast as they please.

MOST businesses follow the law.

Once it becomes legal to hire formerly illegal aliens as citizens, there will be many more legal people for legally operated businesses to hire. These people will work for less.
If their wages are increased to the legal minimum, that would not be less.

Enjoy!
Your lack of grasp is showing.
