Because this is America. That's why. Get it under control. Men want it. Men want to buy it. What is the problem, again? It's legal in the UK. Know what happens when you legalize what people want? Good stuff. Good stuff happens. Bad stuff stops happening (as much.)

America has this Puritanical image about sex. And that's about it. It's an image. It isn't real.
Like privacy. That used to be real. Now, NSA? Not so much.

Like the drug war, the reasons for making prostitution illegal have changed dramatically over the last 100 years. Prostitution had been legal or at least tolerated in much of the US. It wasn't till there were massive outbreaks of syphilis and gonorrhea in the major cities that states started cracking down. Disease is still an issue, but it is much easier to contain and control now.

if you want it legal in your state, then by all means work towards that end. write the legislation, get it on the ballot, campaign for it, and vote for it. if you put up a proper campaign, and you can convince enough people to see it your way, then great, you have succeeded in getting prostitution made legal in your state. but as i always say, be careful what you wish for as you may just get it. the democrats wanted government run health insurance, well they have it now an dit is a loadstone around their necks right now.

I don't want it in my neighborhood.

Openly displayed prostitution tends to bring property values down, and I would rather not the daughters of the neighborhood see the prostitute as an example of a "business" woman.

It's funny. Some men say they want prostitution, but they never say they want their daughter to be one.

and this is why prostitution will likely never be legalized in all states. even those states that have legalized prostitution, or decriminalized it, have only done so in certain areas and with lower population densities.

Two strangers can do it on film for money and its legal. America has a porn industry.
However, if two strangers do it for money in say, at your home ot hotel room, then that's totally wrong and we will not stand for that, no, sir, not in our pure world and hypocrite much?

As we've seen in countries where it's regulated, it takes most of the crime out of it.

You can build a wall with your hands, and you can get paid for it. You could rent out your body parts and services for an hour, and that's just terrible.

Look, check out Ezekiel -
verse 20. The one about "looked like a Donkey's" and "emissions like that of a horse."
Ezekiel 23 - Two Adulterous Sisters - The word of - Bible Gateway

The same country that thinks this is bad loves a book with chapters that read like Penthouse.
