Can we have a forum section for ACA discussion like we do for Elections and Illegal Immigration?
Instead of 2 large sticky threads? Way too much to stuff in individual threads imo.
I believe the amount of news / discussion warrants it.
Anybody else second this?

Good Luck ……. I've been sending complaints for days now, with zero response. The Dump Threads are a great way to stifle discussion and for Censorship. It's going to take a lot of posters to complain before we get their attention.

Glad to see I'm not the only one, but I have learned the hard way that any posting about moderation can end up in a suspension. So, beware. If we are not around for the next 2-4 weeks, you know why.
Would be a good idea. Right now the 2 threads are too choppy. There are a lot of aspects of the ACA that will come into play over the next few weeks: which states will approve reinstating the cancelled policies; reaction of people when they have to pay deductibles for follow up visits; whether or not the people who signed up actually got insurance after all, continued sign up numbers, the daily drama of the computer system failures, etc
It is an evolving topic which should be given more than 2 posts.

New subforums are made by the administrator, not mods. I think it takes a bit of work and they're not made on a whim. Anyhow, subforums are only made if it can keep a lot of posting activity with new threads made regularly. Since it's just one issue that's a "hot topic" right now I don't think it will (or should) be made.
Understood, but there really isn't that much activity on the Elections subforum. Could it be replaced as the ACA rolls out and people can see how it goes? Afterall, 1/1/14 is when EVERYONE is affected one way or another by the ACA mandates. Or perhaps putting it in the Health forum so people can get information going into next year's enrollment season.

I guess if the ACA will only be a hot topic for a short time it makes sense to have the sticky threads and not a sub-forum.
Maybe if it continues to be a big point of discussion admin will decide to change this.
But, I have to say that the 2 large sticky threads make me not want to read them or post in them because they are too broad in their focus.
It is an entire sub-forum dedicated to health insurance. That would be where I would go if I wanted to engage into topics about the ACA and the effects of it.
