The problem when people start believing the lies they tell, is they start talking in circles.

Which part of "income" do you not understand?

Income is the total of earned income and unearned income.

Those in "poverty" (snicker) have income in excess of $50,000.

HUD Section 8, Food Stamps, WIC, SNAP, TAN-F, Medicaid (or Medicare), Obamaphones, free or subsidized utilities, free or subsidized heat, and many other perks all constitute unearned income.

"Free?"

You were graduated by a university and you don't understand that nothing is "free?"

You ought to seriously consider giving that degree back...it would be the honorable thing to do.

There aren't going to be any jobs.

If you can't compete against a $0.75/hour Chinese, then how are you going to compete against a $0.75/hour Bangladeshi when economic development shifts from Southeast Asia to Southwest Asia....in progress now?

How are you going to compete against Tajiks, Turkmen, Kyrgs, Uzbeks and other Turco-Mongol peoples earning $0.75/hour when development shifts from Southwest Asia to Central Asia?

How are you going to compete against sub-Saharan tribal groups when development shifts there? They're earning $0.09 per day for a 10-12 hour day right now.....wages in developing States generally double every 10 years....do the math.

Since you claim to have to gone to a university, then this should be an easy concept to grasp...

P&G employee starting wages @ $22.50/hour + $1.50 production costs + $5 profit = $29
Romanian employee national minimum wage @ $1.40/hour + $1.50 production costs + $5 profit = $8.90

Good points.

If they don't know how to create wealth with the money they have, then giving them more money is just more wealth they will not be able to create.

The Money Fairy, of course!

Clad in the most simmering samite flowing robes, the Money Fairy will mount her Unicorn and descend from the Great Ivory Tower on the Isle of Utopia in the Sea of Kumbaya and dispense free money.

We can make that happen right now. All we have to do is hold hands and sing We are the World.

Donning hearing protection...

Maybe you can find this guy I heard about once. I hear people say he's still around in some form or another.
He did something with loaves and fishes.

the biggest problem with such a program is mexicans. there are already a bunch of them here that don't belong, and if we did this, they would come screaming over the border illegally crapping out baby after baby. I shudder at the thought. the country is brown enough, we're closed.

American basic income: An end to poverty?
The people who need it the most would **** it away the fastest

There's an entire class of people who are entirely happy gaming the system, waiting on the government check to arrive and then doing odd jobs under the table for extra spending money. I know, because I have encountered them.

The idiots who coined this theory essentially would just create even more parasites on the system.

Where is all of this extra wealth going to come from? Do we just print it out of thin air?

All these stories about the income disparity during this awful economy and they never mention the left's great hope and change, OBAMA, presides over it all. The problem is liberalism's "government spending is the first and last answer" philosophy. This philosophy of just throw more taxpayer money at it, will never fix any problem, this is what is destroying our economy. That and the political corruption, which accelerated under Obama, where the politicians loot the treasury in exchange for power, influence, and endless reelection campaign support.

Get rid of Obama, stop listening to, or electing liberals, and the conservatives will turn this country around, and turn the economy around.

No, this does not mean we callously abandon the poor and the needy to their fates. Conservatives do have care and compassion for those folks down on their luck, and in need of adequate support and assistance from government. We just think federal involvement should be limited, and only those who need the help should receive it, and those who can provide for themselves, should do so.

The illegal alien community, which includes employers and workers, have been earning money under the table like this for decades, they have perfected the process.

Most people suggesting these ideas are very specific that they should ONLY apply to natural born citizens.

Some might argue for legal immigrants as well.
