First off, please correct my mistakes in the quote. The mother was wrong to begin with and the kid had no right to charge at the cop.

She was wrong, yes. But the cop shooting at her vehicle? Even worse.

If marijuana weren't criminalized, the mother wouldn't have panicked over being afraid of cops finding it in the minivan. That's why I think she drove off TWICE instead of just getting a damn ticket. Now she and her 14 year old are going to jail, and her children are going into the system.

This woman has no business with children since she's so reckless.

it's the mom's fault. period. there is no other argument here. she put her children in danger.
I mean, seriously, who reacts that way? I have been stopped by police A LOT. sometimes, I was "riding dirty". and then I drove for years without a license. if her crazy butt would've just stayed put on the first stop she would've almost certainly have gotten a ticket, been on her way, and still have her drug paraphernalia.

If anyone thinks the police should take most of the blame here, they're idiots.

It's common sense to not drive away from police during a traffic stop. Not only that, but she attempted to get back into the car again after the police stopped her the second time! And that kid has serious attitude problems. I don't care if you're mother is getting arrested, YOU DON'T CHARGE A POLICE OFFICER. 14 years old is old enough to have that kind of knowledge.

The only thing I disagree with on the officers part is shooting at the car. Maybe he wasn't aware that there were kids in there since he came after? Also, I think he was trying to shoot the wheels, not the car.

On the CBS news tonight it was mentioned that the shots were fired IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF STATED POLICIES!
So, THAT cop was WRONG!
IMO, the night stick wielder was wrong also. There is NO excuse for anyone in a position of authority to get THAT angry! He very plainly lost control of himself AND the situation. I think he should be put on desk duty before his lack of self control results in a death.
