I believe the latest report is that Deeds' son killed himself....which means he was presumably his dad's attacker.

I heard it on local news that VA police are prepared to make this statement in a news conference here in the next half hour. Fox News is also reporting that the attacker was the son.

Okay. I found some other news sources that now are saying that. Just when I read the linked article, I didn't find that piece of info. Terrible tragedy. I hope Creigh Deeds recovers.

Murder-suicide. It happens quite often, although usually it is the father doing the killing.
