Better solution: all welfare recipients should lose their voting right.

Why should the recipients of other people's money - tax have anything to say how that money should be spent?

In all honesty were it not for welfare its entirely possible I would have chosen the abortion route, the GF at the time was certainly willing to go that route.

Instead I collected welfare until I hit 17, and joined the military with a parental waiver. I suppose you COULD call that another government handout.....

How about keeping your legs closed until you are in a committed relationship to a man whose name is NOT "Uncle Sam".

Pregnancy is always the woman's fault, isn't it? Not!

That's one of the big differences between Liberals and Conservatives on the safety net. Conservatives are willing to kick off as many actual needy people as it takes to make them feel like the system isn't being abused.

Outside of severely criminalizing welfare fraud (I'm pretty sure it's already a felony), what else are you going to do force out the leeches?
And then what? So, its a felony. You have to have a criminal justice system willing to prosecute and a jury willing to convict. I live, work, and deal with this in the People's Republik of Kalifornia. Worse, in Alameda County. The most socialist, left wing county in America (yes, we can argue that). You can prove welfare fraud, in a court of law. The jury will "nullify" it and ALL, yes read again friends, ALL their benefits be restored.

Oh, but Bill Clinton god rid of being on welfare forever? No he didn't. Another lie and false hood, perpetuated by the socialists. There are so many loopholes in the laws, you can receive welfare, food stamps, et al forever. You just need someone to guide you through the issues. ANY welfare office will help you. ANY.

People are purposefully having kids that they know they can't afford because they KNOW they will get money from the gov..this is wrong!

And it is really sad also. I know of 15 yr old girls to me still a girl, to them an adult that have had babies.

Problem is when you hear them speak, and think that having a child is the best thing in the whole wide world. Makes me think they need a child to be valid. That is sad. What the helll is wrong with the Mother's. In most of these cases there is only one parent.

I know because one of my best friends is a shrink-counselor. Problem is as my friend says, all a game while having sex, then when the baby comes reality sets in. She says those who are more mature can handle it, those that are very inmature, do not. And in some cases, these teens, are not good Mom's by any adult standard.

It really is sad that so many huseholds as she says are so screwed up, and when a teen does not have the ability to have learn right from wrong, or had good examples set, is when the problems start.

What is the answer, i would like to see a solution, but what. She talks to me about how some of these young Moms' expect to be cared for, what she does, is try and instill some self worth to them. And for them to learn to take care of themsmelves. Most of the time, does not happen, Grandparents have to step in, and somtimes the child is taken away from a young Mom. I would love to see a solution.

I have had friends who had babies (in Illinois it's impossible to get much assistance without having kids)and were on welfare. Most were too lazy to work, but why should they? everything was paid for, from housing to food stamps (now under the Link Card)to WIC. Utilities are paid for, including cell phone and so are day care (even if you don't work), education and medical. Meanwhile Illinois is going broke supporting these people, who are mostly illegals and people making illegitimate babies.

I have no problem helping those who fall on hard times but rarely do they get help unless they are elderly or disabled. This is because we are too busy supporting all the baby mamas/baby daddies and those who shouldn't be here.
